"WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WAKE UP! WA-" Devon's shouting chant was interrupted by Jay pillow-slapping him in the face.
"Ouch, that one hurt, Jay... I hope you know the scar you've given me. Even if it isn't a visible one, you've scarred my poor beautiful soul." Devon mumbled, rubbing his palm over his cheek.
"Urghjhds," Jay covered his face with a pillow, trying to avoid the sunlight streaming in.
"C'mon Jay, get up, Rick's gonna knock any minute now." Travis pulled his duvet covers, exposing his bare chest.
"Chessy, are you up?" Jay asked, still not removing the pillow from his eyes.
"Yeah, I just got done bathing. You're the last one." I replied, putting on my pair of fitted jeans.
"Trav and I are gonna go to Leyla's room to get ready first, Ches you comin'?" Devon asked, walking to the door.
"Yeah, just a minute, you guys go on first." I gave them a nod, running a hand through my hair. Travis only nodded before opening the door, letting Devon walk out first.
"I'm so sleepy." Jay drawled after the door closed.
"You aren't the only one, but you gotta get up, unless you wanna skip breakfast again." I glanced at the clock. It was currently 9.14 am. We had to be down by 9.30 am for breakfast and leave by 10 am. The meet and greet starts at 11.30 am and the mall is about a forty-five minutes drive from the hotel.
"You can sleep in the van, we have quite a long drive there." I suggested, shrugging my jacket on.
"Alright, you go ahead first. I'll pop in the shower and I'll meet you downstairs." He finally sat up, rubbing his eyes and stretching.
"See ya, youngling." I ruffled his hair before grabbing my phone and going out.
"I'm older and taller than you!" He called out as I left the room. I only chuckled.
...
We were in the midst of breakfast when a very lively Jay Harrington appeared.
"You're," Rick looked at his watch, "twelve minutes late." He frowned at Jay who just sat down and stole some of Devon's leftovers.
"Do tell." He said in between bites.
"Guys, I'm going to say this for the last time," Rick sighed.
"That's what you said the hundred times before." Devon muttered.
"What was that, Devon?" Rick narrowed his eyes at him.
"Nothing, geez." He put his hands up in surrender. The rest of us snickered at him.
"Anyway as I was saying, I know you boys are young and still want to have fun and be teenage rebels or –" Rick started before he was interrupted by all four of us.
"Whatever, but you lot still have to keep in mind that you're working and act like responsible adults and stop being late for important events." We finished in unison, looking bored.
"You think you're very funny, don't you?" Rick narrowed his eyes at all of us.
"No, not really..." Devon muttered under his breath.
"What was that, Devon?" Rick turned to him.
"Nothing, geez." He said for the second time. We sat and chatted for a couple more minutes before we were on the move.
...
"Psst."
"Shut up, let me sleep."
"Psssssssst." I swatted my hand lazily at the human satan who was interrupting my slumber.
