Dati

AN: This poem is so random. I just feel like I needed to write this one. And by the way, this is inspired by a song entitled "Dati" by Sam Concepcion. :)

Word: Dati

Translation: before, the past, old times

-----

Fifteen years ago...

I was five, you were seven;

we're two careless kids-

painting the treehouse

with random watercolors

and soon call it home.

*

That was sweet, you know,

a prelude to a story-

more on love- maybe?

*

But then, we dream not

of saccharin fairytales:

we're too young for that!

We were oblivious

About destiny and fate;

Aching hearts and hate.

*

Our world of legos

was half-spent in Neverland-

(the empty backyard).

You were Peter Pan,

some mean kids were the pirates,

and me, sweet Wendy!

*

No heartbreaks, just scrapes-

on the elbows and the knees-

yes, never the heart.

*

~~~
*
Years have swiftly passed
Our world expanded and grew
You changed, so am I.
*
You seemed to forgot
about the girl in your past
And it is unfair!
*
Because she's right here
always thinking about you
and that old treehouse...
*
Reliving old days,
wishful thinking that maybe
you'll flash her a glance
or greet her, as you
pass her by every morning-
just for old times sake.
