Tonight was the third night after our mission started. We found nothing yet so far, either they are avoiding us or their nest is further in the forest. We were split into 3 teams, Alpha, Beta and Epsilon. Me? I'm in team Alpha. We set out on mission to hunt killers that have been terrorising a nearby town for quite some time now. Many became their victims and ended to be in a very gruesome condition. Their blood decorated the walls in either blood splatter pattern or in writing that would send chills down the spine. Some had their intestines hanged up as streamers or had their kidney eaten. They even mutilate people until it is hard to recognise who is the victim. And because of all of this, some of the victims' loved ones had to be sent to the asylum or commited suicide.
Insanity....
I was almost consumed by that as well back in the past. But luckily, I managed to avoid myself by being consumed by it. But that was a story that I prefer not to tell. The memories of that fateful night flashed at the back of my mind. "General? General? Is everything alright?" My mind snapped back to reality when I heard the sound of one of my soldiers calling out to me. "Yes, I'm fine Lieutenant. What is it? Is something wrong?" I looked straight into his eyes with complete sterness in my voice. "No, but one of the soldiers found this stuck on one of the forest tree trunks." He said as he handed me a note with an odd drawing of a circle with two 'x's at the upper left and right side of the circle with something written along with it in messy writing. "Always watches, no eyes." I read it out loud with the help of the light from my torchlight. "What do you think it is, General Foress?" He asked as a wide smile made its way to my face. With a flick of my finger, I turned the torch light off and turned my glasses to night vision mode. "We're close. Let's keep moving!" I ordered and we all went deeper into the forest.
The sound of our footsteps broke the silence that enveloped the dark forest. There we no light except for the moonlight that could light up the forest but witht the help of the 21st century technology, we can easily see in the dark. After a few hours of walking, I decided we should take a 10 minute break but that changed when I heard footsteps from afar. I raised right hand up, signaling them to stop moving. I closed my eyes and used my hunting senses to focused on the sound. One.... Two.... Three people are headed this way. "We got company." I said and they got their guns ready.
A glipse of orange could be seen between the forest trees as it circled around us. I observed the figure, and found out that they were two people. Wait.... If there's two people circling us, then where's..... I turned my head to my right side and saw something headed my way. I leaped out of the way and it hit the tree nearby. I looked at it. A hatchet.... "General! It's-" One of my soldiers was cut off by the sound of a gunshot that manage to do a headshot on him. I looked at the direction where the bullet came from. A man with brown hair wearing a yellow hoodie and a white feminine mask stood there with a gun in hand.
The sound of another fallen soldier could be heard and I turned around and saw a man wearing an orange hoodie and a black mask with red eyes and mouth that seemed like a frown with a bloody bat in hand. Another hatchet came flying and hit another shoulder and ticking sound could be heard. Another man with brown hair, orange goggles and a mouth guard came out of the shadows and took his two hatchets. "The Proxies..." I hissed and took out my dual sword and charged at the black masked man.
When I got close enough, I swinged both of my swords only to find him not there anymore. I charged at him again and lowered his torso down and with a swing of his bat, he hit me right at the gut, sending me flying towards a tree. The air in my lings was forced out and landed on the ground with a thud. I coughed out the blood that made it's way into my throat and wiped away the blood that was dripped from my mouth. I looked up and saw many of my soldiers have lost their lives in the hands of the Proxies. "No. I'M NOT GONNA LET YOU KILL ANY MORE OF THEM!" I shouted and let out a battle cry as I charged at the black masked man again. This time, I took out my rifle and aimed at him.
He managed to dodge all of my shots except for one. I managed to shot him at his right shoulder, and he fell to the ground as he held his wound. Out of the blue, the orange goggled man came swinging his hatchets at me and I quickly dodge him as I notice the white masked man rushed ti his friend's aid. I focused back at the enemy in front of me and he was about to land a hit at my shoulder when I bent down I knocked him off the ground and he face planted on ground. Using my sword, I stabbed him at his back a few times and backed away when I was sure he was dead but to my surprise he wasn't. He got up nice and easy as he reached for his hatchets.
Damned I forgot.... This guy is immune to pain.
As he slowly got up, I took my distance and observe my surroundings. This is not good, the whole team is getting wiped out. Then a voice came through the intercom that I placed at my right ear. "General Foress, this is leader of team Beta. We are under attack! What are your orders?" The voice said and another voice came in as well. "General, this is team Epsilon. We too are under attack! What should we do?" He asked. I sharply looked at The Proxies and my dying soldiers before me. "Extertminate them." "What?! You can't be serious General! Our soldiers are dying! Isn't it better if-" "Tell me. Who are we?" I cut him off making him went silent for awhile. "We are a the member of the Black Crimson Force, General." They both answered confidently. "And what is our motto?" "Never give up without a fight." They answered. "So what are you waiting for? Exterminate them." I ordered them. "Roger that, General."
I took out my rifle again and began shooting at the orange goggled man and the white masked man direction which they skillfully dodged. I managed to shoot the white masked man at the thigh, making his speed slow down a bit but somehow he still managed to dodge the bullets. I kept trying to shoot them down while distancing myself from them as they kept on trying to get me in a closer range. I kept on shooting and distancing when my ammo ran out. Now the rifle is no longer useful, I threw it away and I stopped running then faced to the three. None of my soldiers survived these three so now it's just me alone fighting these three. I withdraw my dual sword and got into battle stance. The three charged at me and charged in as well. Letting out a battle cry, I repeled the upcoming bullets that was shot by the white masked man as the distancing between us minimized rapidly.
Two hatchets and dual swords clashed with the sound of their fierce battle echoed throughout the dark forest. I tried to keep up with the three of them but my energy is draining fast and I don't know how long I can keep this up. One of them notice that My movements has gradually gotten slower and a bit sloppier and he took this opportunity and hit me hard at the head with a bat. I fell to the ground with a loud thud and my dual swords escaped my grasps. Blood trickled from my head down my temples and cheek. I tried hard to get up but I only managed to look up and saw a gun pointed to my head. "What are you waiting for? Shoot." I taunted him. He kept silent and looked at two of his friends and the both nodded.
Then everything went black....
