it was a late winter evening when i decided to walk into the desolate gas station. i had been out all day trying to find gifts that would be appreciated by those closest to me. after very little luck and the initial freezing of my finger tips, i decided to call it a day. i grabbed my leather wallet from the center console of my beat-up sedan, strolling out into the dark chilled air. pushing the heavy door open, i bounded into the small shop looking for possible midnight snacks to fill my cravings.
"hello, may i help you sir?" a high pitched voice spoke from a distance. i cocked my head to the side looking for the source of the noise when my eyes gazed upon the most beautiful person i had ever seen.
"you're gorgeous.." i trailed off, blushing furiously. i internally slapped myself and rushed to hide behind an aisle, hoping he had not heard my words.
"you're not too bad either," the beautiful boy winked, moving towards me. his feathery brown hair glistened under the bright lights, as he approached. i swore to myself whilst trying to fix my hair before he could notice.
"what brings you here so late?" the pixie like boy questioned. i stayed silent for a moment, thinking about the question.
"holiday shopping." i quickly responded. he seemed to eye the items in my hand. i self consciously looked down seeing all of the safety food i had gotten. three bags of salt and vinegar chips, four packs of winter-mint gum, and an abnormally large bottle of lemon infused ice tea. i shook my head, instantly regretting my cravings.
"what a hungry boy you are.." he giggled. in that moment, my mind exploded. for that was the most beautiful noise i had ever heard. i made it my mission to make the angelic boy giggle eternally.
"if you think thats bad, you should have seen my dinner!" i laughed at my own joke while clapping my hand to my knee. the boy raised an eyebrow and shook his head. oh.
"so, what's your name?" i said in what i believed to be my most enticing voice. the beautiful boy released another giggle which i now believed to be the cure of all evil.
" louis tomlinson. yours?" he replied.
" styles, harry styles," i joked
" well aren't you quite the comedian, mr. styles,". i wondered how old he was, not much older than me i supposed. i was a junior in high school, but i looked as if i was barely sixteen to be fair. shaking my head at the thought of my appearance, the boy and i walked over to the cash register.
"that'll be $15.60," he informed me. i gave him a twenty and told him to keep the change. as i walked out i looked at the receipt the boy had given me; there was small writing on the bottom that stated 'you seem like a cool lad, give me a call sometime curly. xxx-xxx-xxxx'. i skipped across the empty parking lot and jumped into my car. i'd like to think that the boy also had gotten nervous around me.
