One of the good things about being a vampire I don't have to feel my heart pound in my chest. I don't have to feel my stomach twisting into knots either, though it felt that way while I put away my things. I couldn't stop my mind from working overtime about what Amon wanted to tell me. I'm sure it wasn't that bad, my mind had other ideas with the different scenarios that happened. I could barely focus on what Calista said after we left the locker room and walked over to the elevators.

I must have stayed in my head longer than I thought when I heard something that made me turn to Calista and frown at her.

"Wait, what do you mean a wizard tried make a potion with coke extract?"

Calista giggled. "I knew that would get your attention. What's wrong? You don't think it's something bad do you?"

I shrugged. "It could be anything. What if someone I counseled came back and changed their mind. They become a vampire, but it's not what they thought then they blame me for it since I didn't warn them enough."

"That's a very specific example, but I doubt that will happen. You did your part as a therapist. You gave them the options they asked for and it's up to them to make that decision. If someone changes their mind about being a vampire, then that's not your fault. Why? Has someone done that before?"

I bit my nail and nodded. "It happened a few times before."

"That's not your fault. I know it and Amon knows it too."

"Yeah but..." I started when Calista leaned against the wall of the elevator and took off her glasses then turned her brown eyes to me. One of the noticeable things about Calista was her eyes. It always felt like she could see inside you, like she was a psychic. It was kind of easy to be afraid of her when she looked at you like that.

She pulled out her cleaning cloth and started to clean them. "If there's one thing I learned as a vampire it's not to sweat the small stuff. I know that sounds like something you could look up online and read, but it's true. You're going to be around for a very long time. You don't want to spend the majority of that time regretting every little thing or you can spend a whole eternity miserable." She checked her glasses before she placed them back on. "There's no need to worry, you're doing great." She smiled and I felt my nerves ease.

"Thanks."

"Anytime!"

I opened my mouth to bring up another topic when a ding sounded above us. The doors opened to the sixth floor, the floor of Amon's office. We stepped off and I walked to the office while Calista took a seat in the waiting area.

"I'll be here when you get back. I'm sure it won't take long."

"I hope not."

"Remember don't worry!"

"I'll try not to." I gave her a small wave before I walked over to Diane, a faerie, who was Amon's secretary.

"Hey Diane, Amon wanted to see me?"

Diane's blue wings swayed a bit when she looked up from her computer with a smile. She nodded and pointed towards the door. "He's waiting for you. Go right on in."

"Thanks." Well, might as well see what he wants. I walk over to the door and knock on it first before I walk inside.

Amon's office isn't as big as many would expect. He doesn't like a lot of space despite being the one who's created the paranormal section of the hospital. It looked like a standard office with black leather couches and chairs. A standard wood desk, though not real wood or the faeries would be really mad, and lamps. Amon kept his office to look as standard as possible. While many people have pictures of friends, family, and little items on their desk the only personal thing Amon put in his office is a plant from home.
