Oh my god, she was crying. Her mascara was smeared and her voice was shaking on the phone...
"Kirstie, what happened?"
"Jeremy...Jeremy cheated on me."
"Oh my god, Kirstie! I'm so sorry, I can't believe it."

Scott wrapped his arms around Kirstie and Mitch joined in on the hug. The three let go and sat down on the couch nearby.
"When did you find out?"
"Tonight. I don't know with who though."
"I can't believe he would do that."
"Why didn't you tell us as soon as he told you?"
"I needed a little bit of time to think. I was as surprised as you are."

I'm going to kill Jeremy. Figuratively speaking, however. I'm sure that would hurt Kirstie even more. I don't want that to happen.
"I...I don't know what to say. I'm shocked."
I was trying to think of things that could cheer her up. And then I got it.
"How about a road trip?"
