Chapter 18

Mikasa's p.o.v.
I was in my room drawing pictures, I heard the door open I assumed Eren was back from his study date with Armin.
I was drawing a picture of me and Jean since we're going out.
I've got to remember later to tell Eren

"Mikasa can you please come down for a moment"
"Yes mom"
I walked down the stairs cautious
Am I in trouble?

"Did I do something?"
"Have a seat dear, this might be long"

I sit down in the little wooden chair I'm trying not to show any fear on my face.

"We have something to tell you and it might be hard to digest"
"What is it?"

Dad and mom looked eachother than he nodded.

"Mikasa... We're...not your real parents" says mom
"What do you mean?"
"Mikasa your real parents were murdered and they tried to sell you for money"
This has to be a dream...
"You were injured really bad and suffered from memory loss, and Grisha took you in cause he used to come over there for checkups"
"So... Your not my real parents"
"We should've told you but you were just a kid, I couldn't do it"

I felt a tear fall down my cheek
"Mikasa?"
I ran upstairs my mom or should I say Carla called after me but I locked my door and fell onto the bed and started crying.
It just wasn't fair...why?
I fell asleep without realizing it floating into foggy memories.

In mikasa's dream
I'm walking in dark hallway and than I see a door with my name on it, I opened it.
The sun was very bright, Hurting my eyes

"Mikasa"
"Coming mommy"
I see a girl with long black hair and in pink summer dress running toward a woman that resembled her.
That must be me and my real mom
Our house looked like a cottage in the middle of the forest.
"Can you help pick the berries?"
"Yeah mom"
I was smiling... This place looked peaceful.
"Hey guys look what I got"
A Englishman was holding a male duck in his hands while in the other holding his rifle.
My mom walked over and kissed him on the cheek.
That must be my dad... He seems cool
"Mommy I picked them all"
"Good job Mikasa"
"Let's go cook this duck for dinner now" says my dad
I run toward the house ahead giggling and laughing.
I must've been happy here
I watch myself help mom sow
"Remember Doctor Jaegar will be coming soon"
"Yes dad"

Oh no

"Hello Jaegar thanks for coming over to-eh"
A knife went through my fathers chest he then collapsed against the door
My mother truly terrified and me frozen, utterly confused.
"Sorry to barge in miss but were just going to take you somewhere so please cooperate with us"
My mom screams with scissors in hand and the man trying to restrain her
"Mikasa run, Mikasa you've got to run  now" tears streaked her eyes
"Daddy...mommy" my younger self said
Than the man picks up his axe and swings it at my mothers neck
A huge gash showed and blood covering the floor, the man did it twice before stopping my mother going limp and lifeless.
"Damnit you weren't supposed to kill her"
"I'm sorry boss"
"We still have her though"
Still I was frozen
They then picked up my fathers rifle and hit me real hard with it and I was knocked out

And that was it

Mikasa wakes up
I awoke with a start, sweat and tears covered me.
So that's what happened...
A knock on the door
"Mikasa, are you alright honey?"
I opened the door and jump into my mothers arms.
"What's wrong dear, are you still mad?"
"No mom... I remember what happened and it was awful" I'm now in utter tears
"Remembered what?"
"About my parents and what happened"
"Oh honey I'm sorry"
She hugs me tight to her while I let my tears flow
This was my family, even though their not my real ones... But I love them just the same.
