Chapter 2 - Nicks P.O.V
Damn! It was hard enough giving her ideas for her grandmother without creeping her out and now she asks for her sister? She wants an art set to paint pictures and color in, but I can't tell her that! She would think im crazy. Well... Maybe if I suggest it nonchalantly.
"Well.. Kids can't have enough art supplies, does S- your sister like art?" I asked, nearly saying her sisters name, Stacy. Laura's eyes widened in surprise, and I could read her mind. 'Now that I think about it Stacy does come into my room and asks to use my pencils and paint set a lot, and was he just going to say Stacy!? I swore I heard an s.' Yeah, she picked up on that.
"Alright, alright you can come!" She exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air. Great! I can't leave her, not now, I only have 15 more days to get her to love me for... Well, me, and if I don't, I get my inherited title given to my younger brother. My father would rather keep the title then give it to him, he's too cold, too proud, too un-caring to ever be a good Santa Claus.
After getting into our respective cars, Laura's a green Swift and mine a red mustang, we drove to the nearest mall.
"So seeming you helped me choose my Grandmothers and Sisters presents I should pick up my slack and try out my creativity?" Laura asked, grinning at me. She was so beautiful, with her easy smile and light, shoulder length brown hair framing her gentle face and those deep blue eyes, she could of easily been one of the christmas angels in the north pole. We walked to an arts and craft shop and she chose a big kids art case for her sister and a few Princess, Barbie and fairy coloring in books. She also got a DIY painting fairy statue, as her sister loves fairies. She got the same thing for her 5 year old cousin too. Then we went to K mart to shop for the rest of her big family. She has 4 other siblings to shop for as well as her aunts and uncles, this was going to take a while.
Eventually (with my help) she found the perfect presents for everyone and I doubt she could of looked more pleased.
"Someone looks happy." I commented. She stuck her tongue out at me and giggled, obviously very happy. I couldn't help but laugh. It was strange how she made me feel so, young.
"So what are you doing Christmas day?" She asked me, making conversation. Oh you know, sleeping after using most of my energy to help dad out go around the world in 12 hours, hopefully not seeing my younger brother go with him.
"Just relaxing with the family really." I explained. Her face fell slightly and I knew she thought I meant partner and kids. "Probably sleeping mostly as I will be up all night helping my dad with his work." I tried to elaborate.
"Really? Work on Christmas eve?" She asked, eyebrows raised. "That would suck."
"Oh, we both enjoy it. He runs a toy shop and he always leaves it open all night on Christmas eve, in case anyone needs to do some late Christmas shopping." I muttered. I felt guilty, lying like that but I had too, I couldn't let her know yet.
