"Makeup is not a tool meant to make an ugly thing beautiful, it is meant only to magnify the beauty that already exists." -Unknown

Two years ago, I had entered the YouTube community with such incitement. I would have never guessed that my own very channel would get so many hits from so many followers. It had gotten easier every other Sunday morning to film myself applying makeup in some new type a way. I added facials that were to be done at home with ingredients from my own kitchen. I gave beauty advice as well as a little fashion advice. The more time I spent with my videos the more I cherished every second after I pressed the recording button. I instantly felt complete and that was then a few of my classmates noticed.
"May!" Del smiled and waved her arms at me. I rushed over to her and felt my ponytail sway. In the courtyard was where my friends and I had gathered to stuff ourselves with our mid-day meals. It was Delia, Alex, and June whose eyes had stared me down.
"My God, May! Everyone is talking about you," June whispered to me. I looked around. Why was she being so secretive? Why were any of them being so secretive?
"What are you guys talking about?" I asked them while I put down my backpack. For some reason, I was never a 'tote' kind of girl.
"We're talking about..."Alex trailed off.
And then all three said "May-Cup" in unison.
I blinked. May-Cup was my username on YouTube. Everyone knew my name though, but more went by my username. The fact that my buddies had mentioned it was because one of my videos had hit the one millionth mark with 780 thousand likes. The video was about how to use makeup the correct way if you were a beginner. I honestly had no idea it would be that popular.
"You are famous now, woman!" Delia jumped out of her seat and twirled. "You could be up there with Michelle Phan and maybe Smosh!"
"Smosh doesn't do makeup, Delia. Just sit down." June patted down the seat next her. Delia obeyed her command as I laughed.
"But seriously, May," Alex sipped her water. "The boys at our school even watch your videos."
Well that was something to think about the next time I will record myself in my bedroom. I should probably not wear any low-cut tops-
"MAY!" June clapped in front of me to get my attention. "Just be careful, okay?"
I had no idea what she meant by that. There wasn't much to be careful about. The bell rang, alerting us that lunch was over. I sighed and continued to drag myself to the remaining classes I had. School was somewhat better now. The others had finally noticed me and were open to me. Girls always came to me for my advice and the boys just gave me a smile or a small wave.
Months had passed and my popularity had grew as the more videos I posted. In three weeks I had broken my record with five million views on the tutorial titled "3 Quick Makeup Styles for School".
Confidence was starting to peak.

That was so short. Lately I have been posting short chapters, I don't know why. I just knew that it had been a really long time since I updated.
Next chapter will be posted around Fourth of July.
