The community center had music blazing and you could see the special lights blinking different colors from the doors. I heard the school dances were grind fests. Ashley would probably be grinding up on me showing her true self. "You ready?" She asks me with a smile. I hate to admit it but she has a beautiful smile, "Yea I'm ready." I got out of the car and set my keys in my pocket.
"Hey you made it!" Mark says as he walks over holding Bethany's hand. It hurt me a little but not as much anymore. I still liked Bethany despite her rejection. "Yea I decided this would be better then gaming." Ashley looked around curiously then grabbed my hand tightly, "Come on John let's dance!" She seemed very excited, she probably just wanted to get me all worked up. I followed her to the dance floor not protesting. She closed her eyes and started feeling the beat of the music and in a matter of seconds she started dancing freely. She didn't follow the crowd she danced her own way. Swaying her hips left to right and dancing crazily. She was free as a bird. I started dancing. I'm not s very good dancer but I dance good enough that I don't get made fun of.
She giggled and grasped my hands then she started spinning us in circles laughing happily. I couldn't help but laugh with her. The lights, the music, and her free spirit started to...oh no. I'm falling in love. It can't be possible. No not with Ashley she's not the type of girl I am supposed to be seen or hang out with. My stupid heart. I could feel the stares of the people. I didn't care anymore. I was happy. She made me happy. A slow song came on and she placed my hands on her waist then put her arms around my neck. She looked up at me with her captivating blue eyes. Those eyes...I couldn't stop looking at her eyes. She smiled softly as we swayed back and forth. I don't know if I should say something or just keep quiet. Wow I'm terrible at this. I know I can't just surprise kiss her like in the romantic movies because then I'll look like a pervert. Why is so hard for me to do these things? Every girl I've spent my time on always end up chasing the bad boys. Someone once told me girls chase bad boys because they're not searching for love. They're searching for a challenge and thats why good guys don't get girls. So what makes Ashely any different? She'll probably go chase a guy after tonight. I should just finish tonight and go back to the gaming world.
Leaving the dance was pretty sad. Well for me atleast. It was time to return to mg sad life. Every good thing has a cost and the cost here was that it would only last a night. After getting into my car I drove her to her home. She seemed happy. She was happy the night ended probably. "This was fun" she said with a soft smile. I can already sense the friend zone coming to hit me like a train. "Yea it was fun," best I could say. Upon arrival I expected her to jump out of the car in a hurry and say a brief goodbye. Wait...what is she doing? Why is she pulling her dress straps down? "I know you probably only wanted this. It was a good night for me. Well...here you go I guess you earned it or whatever. Its not like this matters anymore." She said sadly. What am I supposed to do? I don't want to. If I reject she'll think she's ugly, but if I accept she'll think I'm a pig. God these hard choices only happen to me I swear. "Um...no...I don't want...that." I pull her straps up she has some soft skin. "Listen, it was a good night for me as well. Don't worry I'm not searching for sex. I'm not like the others." Well there we go. I just entered the friend zone all by myself. She smiled weakly and nodded then opened the door. "Sorry John...I don't want you to think bad of me. Thanks for the great night. Um will I see you tomorrow? Or will we act like we haven't seen each other?" Wow thats a pretty shocking question, "um...I'll see you tomorrow." I smile and nod. Well what now? She left and went to her apartment and gave me a quick wave. I honestly don't know if I should search for her love or if she considers me a friend. Either way can already tell that this isn't going to end with a happily ever after.
