"So that's why they created the atomic bomb..." Alex continued explaining to me about the World War II.
We've been studying History for three hours yet Alex hasn't shown any signs of stopping anytime soon.
In fact, he seems to be really focused on teaching me that his eyebrows frowned so closely, forming that little dent in between his eyebrows.
From here, you can even see his defined jaw moving up and down as he speak.
And I'm in an awkward tense situation where he is hovering above me as he point out the paragraph, leaning close enough for me to smell his scent... like wood and cinnamon.
"You are supposed to focus on what I'm saying and not my features, you know?" Alex interrupted my thoughts.
"What... pff no I was totally paying attention to what you were saying." I looked at my textbook.
"Sure." Alex said sarcastically.
The door open and mom entered.
"Alex it's already six. Do you want to join us for dinner?" Mom asked Alex.
"Sure."
"Okay dinner will be ready in five minutes." Mom closed the door.
"Your parents won't mind?" I asked him.
"I need to inform my aunt." Alex went out of my room.
I slowly got up of my chair and trudge down the stairs. Before I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw Alex talking on the phone.
"Inform Maria that I won't be joining you guys for dinner." Alex said.
Silence.
"At Helena's."
Alex looked at me. He continued talking without breaking our eye contact. He finally ended the phone call.
"Your parents knows who I am?" I asked him.
"No... that was Sabrina." Alex replied.
To summarize the whole dinner experience thing with Alex, it was great. Mom was impressed by him and looks at him as a role model for us.
Who even thought that he scores As for his subjects?
And I don't know how Alex did it, but mom told us to hang out with Alex because he is a good influence.
As for Harry it's because he hangs out with the team too much, wouldn't want anyone to see him as a snob right?
And the incident after dinner was the most awkward feeling I've ever felt. It all happened when mom told me to walk Alex to his car.
And it all goes like this:
"Thanks for the dinner Ana." Alex thanked my mom.
I know, they are on a first-name basis now.
"Your welcome. Come again." Mom smiled warmly at him.
"Helena can you walk Alex to his car?" Mom asked me.
I nodded. Alex and I walked in silence until we reached in front of his car. Then we stopped and looked at each other, not saying anything. It made me feel awkward so I said the first thing that came out of my mind.
"So... you and Sabrina are together huh?" I said.
"Sabrina and I? What about it?" He looked confused.
Are you kidding me? Must I spell out everything to him?
"You and Sabrina... how long have you guys been dating?" I rephrased what I said earlier.
"What? Dating? No. She's my cousin." Alex said.
My eyes widen. "C-cousins? That was unexpected."
Alex laughed. "I thought you already knew."
"Yeah... about five seconds ago." I said.
"But I really thought you knew."
"Nope. Especially when Sabrina seems really possessive around you. And she seems to have something against me." I said.
"You gotta ask her that yourself. But don't worry, she'll open up to you." Alex smiled.
I returned the smile.
"See you tomorrow?" Alex asked me after he got in his car.
"Yeah. Bye." Alex drove off.

Beads of perspiration rolled down my cheeks. This is it. I'm going to take the History test.
"Hayley stop chewing the pen. You're gonna do well." Alex whispered.
I stopped. I didn't realize that I was subconsciously chewing my pen.
"Is there anything you wanted to say, Mr Gold?" Mr Brooke asked him.
"Nope. Just motivating Hayley." Alex replied.
Mr Brooke glared at Alex for a few seconds and started distributing the test papers.
"You may begin." Mr Brooke announced.
*****
"So how was it?" Alex asked me.
"It was easy! Everything you went through came out!" I gave him a tight hug.
Alex tensed but returned the hug a few seconds later.
"Guys? I hate to interrupt your hugging session right now but I'm really hungry." Danny said.
Alex and I pulled away.
"You and your food... what about Owen?" Alex asked him.
"Owen has some project to do." Danny replied.
Alex sighed and turned to me. "Wanna join us for some pizza?"
I shook my head. "I have to clean my room."
"That's sad." Alex said.
"But promise me that you will be there the next time we go out for pizza. Promise?" Danny let out his pinky finger.
"Promise." I said, intertwining our pinkies.
So Alex and Sabrina are actually cousins? Be honest, who actually saw it coming?
