Ebony rolled over in her queen sized bed, still fast asleep until she was awoken by a bark and little paws running over her bed, instantly sitting up and staring down at these big blue eyes, large black ears with one flopped over as well as an enormous pink tongue. “Do you like her?” She looked up and at a familiar face that held a heart melting smile. “I love her, but one small question.. What’s this all about?”
“Just a little present, can’t I get you anything?” He chuckled and came over, sitting down on the bed beside her and placing a kiss on her temple.
“I didn’t say that, don’t take her from me!” She pouted, cuddling the husky puppy towards her, its tail going crazy with excitement, “Kiara, I named her already by the way.”
“That didn’t take you long, but anyway, I’ll see you tomorrow night, alright?” He ruffled up her hair, though it was already messy, “nice bed-head though, yeah?” He managed to say before chuckling, stepping out the door and then down the stairs. Ebony kept a pout on her lips until she no longer heard his footsteps, to which she then focused onto fussing the puppy on her lap.
Later that evening, Ebony was still fussing over her new puppy, somewhat surprised that he parents had allowed her to have Kiara in the first place, but how could you say no to her cute overly sized ears? The creature was curled up in her lap on the sofa, the tv on in the background playing some whilst her parents were shuffling about in the kitchen. “So what are you two exactly?” She heard her mother shout,
“Owner and pet, what else would we be?” Violet smirked, knowing exactly what her parents were on about exactly, she just wanted to hear the exact words.
“Ebony Cole, don’t get smart with us, be straight now, are you two an item or what? You’ve been friends long enough and you pretty much are anyway, love.” Her dad mumbled too her as he walked into the room, waiting for an answer from his only child.
“Dad, we’re best friends and we always will be, we don’t need a label on what we have, it’s special and that’s all that’s needed to be said on the matter. I do however need to get to sleep, I’ve got work at 8.” She smiled sweetly and stood, flicking off the tv and turned to head up the stairs too her room, her house was quite large for 3 people, her parents had well off jobs, but that didn’t mean Ebony had it easy, she still worked for her own money, she said it felt better to have earned it than too just been given it.
“We just don’t want you getting hurt, Ebony.” Her mum shouted after her, “I won’t!” She shouted back before continuing to bed.
