Maddies POV
Louis and I were strolling down the airport terminal looking at all the nick-nacks saying 'I love chicago' all over them. Why anyone would come here on their vacation was beyond me.
"Lou, look at this one," I giggled, it was a rainbow shot glass reading 'pride for chicago'
Louis wipped around and let out a hoot, "Goddamn, that's another I need to add to my collection," he snached the glass out of my hand and inspected it. "ill buy it!"
"Okay, whatever floats your boat babe," I siged rolling my eyes and placing my Dramamine, pretzel goldfish, and Sudoku book on the counter in front of the old Asian women who was working the check out.
"You cute couple," she grinned looking at me, then at louis, then back at me.
"Oh um, we aren't dating," I acknowledged, looking at louis.
"She cackled, "sure, sure, young love," she shook her head and practically pushed us out of her store.
We proceeded to mozy our way to the gate. I took a seat next to the announcer so I would be sure I would be able to hear him when he announced our flight, yet hardly anyone was here at the gate, besides a tall boy with curly brown hair, a fedora, and some sparkling gold boots.
He was quite a statement. In a way i felt bad for the girl who accompanied him, she looked quite lost sitting in the airport.
I plugged my headphones in, and closed my eyes.

" --flight 232 to Sydney, Australia."
Louis hit me in the boob, "dude that's us!" He shouted.
I've never heard louis so happy before in my life. "Okay, I'm coming, hold on," I pulled my backpack over my shoulders and quickly walked behind louis, I was hoping we could be in the front so we got to pick our seats first.
I gave the man in the front my ticket and I ran down the boarding gate. The girl and gold boot boy were doing the same in front me, they were arguing about something, I just couldn't pick it up.
I claimed the seat in the window, I was across the aisle from the girl and gold boot boy.
This will be an interesting flight.
Louis plopped down next to me. I looked at him then back to gold boot boy and back at lou.
"I'd tap that," louis wispered in my ear. He fixed his fringe, but once again it flopped right back in his face.
I snorted and started laughing, "not here," I shook my head, in a half disaproving way.
"Just you watch, Maddie," he scowled and poked my nose.
"Oh okay," I mimiced, I turned to look out the window. I didn't even notice the flight attendants performing their normal safety procedures until after they were done.
"Ma'am, you need to put your seat belt on," the plastic flight attendant smiled sarcasticly.
"Mmkay," I said bluntly and held eye contact with her for at least 10 seconds, I loved holding ackward eye contact with people, it was always so much fun to have them turn their heads in embarrassment.
I felt the plane jolt up, and soon we were 30,000 feet in the air.
I looked at louis and he looked back at me, i could see the excitement glowing in his eyes.
I held his hand and mouthed the words thank you before turning and sticking earbuds in and letting the music fill my head with overwelming joy.
I drifted back to sleep.

When I awoke I noticed louis was gone, I had a blanket over my legs, and there was an alcoholic beverage of some type sitting on the tray in front of our seats. I decided to take a sip, why not, it wasn't gonna hurt me.
As I took a sip I noticed a piece of napkin with pen marks on it was stuck to the bottom of the glass. I peeled it off, it read: "mile high club, gold boot boy, brb ;-) lou"
He got me-- I couldn't believe he was getting it on in an airplane bathroom.
And here I was, still a virgin with no hope what so ever.
I unbuckled my seat belt and took a step across the aisle, I stood in front of the girl who was sitting next to louis' fuck buddy.
I tapped her shoulder nervously, I didn't know the girl and I definitely didn't want her to think I was crazy.
She was pretty though, she had super long straight brown hair, the hair I've always dreamt of having, she also had striking Ice blue eyes, there were also freckles showing up across her nose, probably from being out in the sun for long amounts of time.
"Oh, hi," she replied pulling her earbud out, I hope I wasn't disrupting her.
My voice shook, "hi," I started, "can-can I sit?"
She had kind of a confused look on her face as to why I was taking to her.
I decided to explain, "oh your friend just went to the bathroom. i think he'll back in a minute but you never know, I'm pretty sure that my friend, louis went with him. Your friend is gay right?"
She smiled a warm smile, I could tell she was a friendly and inviting person, a positive influence even.
"oh yes he is most definitely gay. how could you tell? was it the sparkly gold boots? or the floral blouse?" She pulled the other earbud out of her ear.
I hope I wasn't being too pushy, I was throughout high school and I think that is what caused me to only have a handful of friends.
We continued conversing about our gay best friends. We had very similar situations, and we were going to australia for the exact same reason, it's been a dream.
I found out her name was grace.
We talked for another half hour, since our best friends were both quite close now, and that we were staying in the same resort in Sydney. We thought it would be fun to do all the vacation things together.
Just then the boys came back, they were very flushed and sweat was starting to form around their hair lines.
Louis and harry took my original spot. When louis replied, "well, I can check that off my list now."
We all started laughing and didn't stop for a while.
It seamed as though grace and i had a very similar sence of humor. We kept cracking jokes about the 2 boys.
I finally introduced the idea of 'vacationing together' to louis and gold boot boy, who's name I learned was harry.
They were obviously down for the adventure and were overjoyed when I explained the idea.
Thus a new friendship was born.
