Exposed

Chapter 1- Intro

He grabs my bag as I roll my eyes at his silly facial expression. I push him playfully and give a soft laugh. "Give it back," I say with more happiness than anger as he shakes his head.
        He chuckles "what? You afraid I'm gonna discover your dirty little secret?" He teases and my smile dims slightly as I bite my lip remembering what I have stashed in my bag. He notices my face and slowly stops his backward steps as his smile slips away. I glance away at his stare and frown, running a hand through my hair.
       He slowly lowers the bag and slips a hand into it as he opens it up. I know what he sees, I know what he found and all I can think is that everything is ruined. That he's going to hate me forever, there's no way I'm ever going to get out of this. His eyes meet mine as I look at him and he looks up from the bag, disbelief swimming in his pretty eyes. I swallow as his mouth opens.
       "You can't be serious, babe.." I close my eyes as a tear slips down my face and I hear him move closer. You're probably wondering what I'm talking about and what's going on, well I guess I should back to the beginning. Back to when it all started, back to when I found myself slowly starting to become exposed.
        ----------------------A few weeks before aka the beginning-------------------
       I sit surrounded by multiple different faces, some male and some female. All of them are smiling. I glance down at my lap, my legs covered by my blue skinny jeans. I bite my lip feeling the urge to scratch a cut that is scabbing over underneath my jeans.
I look up and realize that I've missed a good portion of the conversation. Why, oh why, must my attention span be so short.
I nudge Cami and whisper, "what are we talking about?"
Cami rolls her eyes as if this is just the usual routine, which I guess it is. I smile sheepishly as if I actually care what I missed and she gives me a small smile back.
"Just Kelly talking about her latest crush, he is supposedly super cute," she says quietly in her southern twang that I envy. I glance at Kelly knowing the guy that she craves will soon be hers. Everyone wants Kelly with her thick black hair and dark skin. It's like she came out of a magazine considering how pretty she is.
Cami is the complete opposite of Kelly with her blonde hair and bright blue eyes. Cami always seems to know the right thing to say, at least to everyone else. Then there's Daria who other than being generally pretty with her brown hair and brown eyes, she also plays sports. All the guys can talk to her about anything and everything, she'd be considered a guy if it wasn't so obvious that she isn't one. Lastly, there's Juliet who is sweet beyond comprehension and who also has brown hair and brown eyes. Her kindness seems to take people by surprise and out of everyone, I am closest to her. There's also Garret, he's a funny one but he's usually with his track friends so I never see him. All of them are good looking which makes me wonder how we're friends.
As for me, I'm nothing special other than being average. Average height. Average weight, I'm just average. My long blonde hair is dull and my hazel eyes are never anything but plain. Besides being average on the outside, I am below average on the inside. And what's my name? Maya. Typical right? Even my name is lame.

Hey. I don't know if anyone will read this but don't be discouraged, this is just the intro. The chapters will get longer. I hope you like it so far even though this is basically just an explanation of the characters. If you've figured out what's off about the main character, good for you! Don't tell though. Anyway, I'm posting the second chapter tonight as well and it is also very short. If you are reading this. I love you and thanks! Well, see you later.
