Chapter 7: Chocolate Ice Cream

The walk to the store is surprisingly not awkward compared from what I am expecting it would be. I ask him some basic information like what is his age? What are his hobbies? You know, normal questions that a normal person would ask. I can feel that Chan is quite uncomfortable meeting new people so I always open-up a conversation so that he would feel comfortable around me.

During the short walk together him him, I discovered 3 things about Lee Chan. First, he has this timid and quiet personality. He has this look that you need to work hard for him to open-up with you or be friends with him but when you have the chance to talk to him, you will discover that this is all just his front. Actually he is a cool guy but still shy. Next, he is a good listener. Maybe he cleans his ears everyday. That's why. Just kidding. What I'm talking about is that when you talk, you can feel that he give his 101% attention to you and also give some insights about it. Lastly, he really runs fast. As in F-A-S-T. Really Fast! He should join someday the track-and-field. I bet he can win all the contests he will be joining in. Overall, Chan is a good guy and I think we can become really good friends.

After a short walk, we arrived in the front of a famous convenience store and there is also a Chinese Restaurant near it.

"Hyung... were do you want to buy some food? In the convenience store or in the restaurant?"

"I think I will just go here." Pointing at the Convenience store.

"Because my Dad is really not a fan of Chinese food"

"Okay Hyung. I will just go there to buy some dinner." He pointed at the Chinese Restaurant across the road.

"Sure. No problem. I will just wait you here if get done buying."

"You can go home if you are finished buying. You don't need to wait for me."

"No. Let's go home together."

"O-okay. If that's what you what. Hyung, I must go ahead so that you will not wait too long for me."

"Sure. Sure. Chan wait! What is your favorite ice cream flavor?"

"Chocolate. Why?"

"Nothing. I'll go inside now." ⊙﹏⊙

"You're weird Hyung."

I go inside the convenience store and go straight to stacks of ramen. I picked 3 packs of ramen and put it in my basket. Then I also bought some kimbab and grab 2 packed lunch. I'm sure that it's enough for the both of us. After buying our dinner, I go to the ice cream freezer to buy some too: a strawberry-flavored for me and chocolate-flavored one for Chan. It is my Thank You gift for accompanying me here.

After I pay all the foods I bought, I sit on the tent outside to wait for Chan. It is so cold outside. I'm happy to bring a jacket with me but now I'm judging the way I think. Why on earth did I buy an ice cream in this kind of weather?
