-Delilah on the side-
~*~
"And that's what you'll need to know for the test on Friday."I packed my stuff and headed for the door. Ugh finally class is over, I was starting to fall asleep.
As I walked out of the room someone grabbed my wrist. I spun around to see who it was. I saw Hunter staring at me with a wide grin. Before he could say anything I turned back around and started heading toward my locker.
"Hey, wait up," I heard Hunter say.
You might be asking why I don't want to talk to him or why I'm running away. Well to answer your questions (that you probably didn't ask but I'll tell you anyway) I don't want to end up like all the other girls. I want my first relationship to be real and I want the guy to actually care for me instead of using me.
Hunter grabbed a hold of my wrist once again and turned me around placing his hands on my shoulders.
"What do you want Hunter?" I said rather rude.
"Can you help me study for the test after school?" He asked with pleading eyes. Why on earth would I ever help him? Wouldn't you think that he would already know that I hate him?
"Why would I ever help you?"
"What's with all the commotion going on out here? You two should be heading to your next class," Mrs. Connor said. Mrs. Connor is my English teacher. She gets annoyed with everyone and everything. Hunter released his hands off my shoulders and explained to Mrs. Connor that he just wanted me to help him study for the upcoming test.
"Hmm, well Delilah does have an A in English. So why not," Mrs. Connor exclaimed. I tried to explain to her that I didn't want to do it but she cut me off.
"Umm ma'm I don't think-"
"Oh that would be a wonderful thing to do Delilah! Thanks for trying to help students get better grades in class so they would have a good future and go to a good college!"
"You're welcome," I mumbled. There was no point in trying to change her decision because once she makes her decision she will NOT change it. I looked over at Hunter to see him smirking at me.
"Thank you Delilah you're a good friend," Hunter said sarcastically.
"I'm not your friend."
"Now, now Delilah no need to be mean. Well, have a nice day kids. See you later!" Mrs. Connor said walking away from us.
I wonder why she's in a happy mood? She's never happy. I looked over to where Hunter was standing to see that he wasn't there. I shrugged my shoulders. I didn't care where he went as long as it was away from me.
I started sprinting to my class because the bell was going to ring any second now. Curse my 3 minute passing period. It doesn't give you enough time to walk out of class to your locker, put away your books, get your books, walk back to your class and talk to your friends.
I ran into the classroom right when the bell rang. Everyone looked at me like I was a mad man with my hair all over the place and my fast-paste breathing. I hurried over to my chair.
"What happened to you, you look like you've been chased by a lion," Blake said pointing out my uneven breaths.
"Gee, thanks Blake, I love you too," I stated sarcastically.
"And attacked by a squirrel," he said looking up at my tangled hair.
"Okay you can stop now I get the point."
"And spit at by a llama," He said motioning to the sweat on my forehead. What can I say I'm not athletic at all and it doesn't help having your next class upstairs at the opposite side of the school. I glared at him.
"Too far?" He asked. I nodded and directed my focus on the teacher who was writing something on the board. When the teacher stepped away all the students looked to see what she had written.
'Open to page 22 in your drama books. You have one day to read pages 1 to 100. Tomorrow I will assign partners and you will have 3 weeks to practice acting this scene out. At the end of the 3 weeks you will perform in front of all the people in your grade. START READING!'
I don't know why Ms. Rizzo wrights on the board instead of actually telling us. No one ever asked her why because that's just how she likes to teach I guess.
"Oh cool! Do you think we will be partners Delilah?"
"I hope so. There's no one else in this class that I'm friends with," I said pulling out my book and flipping to the first page.
"True, true," Blake said and pulled out his book.
The rest of the class time was silent because everyone was reading their books.
I felt my eyes shutting every now and then. I just leaned my head on the table and kept reading.
"Bye dad! I'll miss you!" I said and hugged my dad good bye. He was leaving on a trip to Australia for a month.
"I'll miss you too Del," my dad said and kissed my forehead before getting into the taxi and driving off to the airport.
I sighed and walked to my couch and turned on the tv. After about an hour and a half of watching PLL I turned on the news.
"There was a devastating plane accident. The plane that was set to go to Australia at 7:30 caught on fire and the pilot didn't know what to do. Sadly, every person on the plane didn't make it out of the fire."
I screamed and sat up in my chair. I heard laughing from behind me and I turned around to see Dylan Hampton and his jock friends laughing their heads off. I was confused about my surroundings until it hit me. That was all a dream, my dad never died in a plane accident, that was someone else.
"Miss Jones, do you mind telling everyone why you screamed in the middle of class," Ms. Rizzo asked looking up from her own Shakespeare book. Oh great, now I'm in trouble.
