Audition day.
Days spent preparing for this day. Ha!
Actually, I spent my days not preparing. YouTube. My procrastination got the better of me.
I walk up the stairs and into the Performing Arts Center I went. I arrive at the doors for the auditorium. I take a breath. It's time! I walk down the ramp to the seats. I sit next to Alexus, a senior.
She smiles big and greets me with a "hello". I return her gesture with a genuine smile. Madeline, also a senior, taps me on the shoulder.
"Hey! I know you."
Really?
"You were the Greatest Dancing Bear for One-Act at Lord Alfred Middle School."
"Yeah. Did you see it?"
"Of course, three times actually. My sister, Anna, was in the play."
Wow! I see it now. Similar faces. I guess it was Madeline's blonde hair that made me think otherwise in contrast to Anna's brown hair.
Daughtress stands on stage with Armstrong, the Technical Theater teacher.
"Hello. Everyone! Thanks for coming out on this Saturday to audition for Tarzan! I'm Ms. Daughtress, the theater teacher, and this is Mr. Armstrong, but we call him THARTS. We are going to separate you all into your auditioning parts in the choir room. Before you guys go, remember to be quiet. And we may have callbacks - you know, just to hear your voice again and maybe even to read lines, so do not leave until either I, Mr. Armstrong, or Allison - our stage manager releases you. Auditions will begin momentarily.
*It's not finished. But I wanted to Publish it. Ill write more later...*
