She chuckled softly "well your in what I like to call the landing bay, it's where new souls land once they've been killed".Before I could respond there was an unbearable pain in my head,like it was being attacked with every type of weapon I could think of.I doubled over clutching my head,my vision went dark except for one things.Flashes only a couple repeating one after another. I could make out what they were, a birthday party,a picnic, a kiss,a gun, what did they mean? Then seemingly as soon as it started it was gone.I sat up struggling for breath, Jane looked at me with a mix of worry and confusion."What the fuck just happened?" she asked "I-i dont know i think i saw my family" I said with a hint of sorrow for them."Wait what?, you remember your family" she asked fearfully.I looked at her confused as to why she seemed scared "Kind of,it was just flashes,i couldnt make much of them"She looked at me shocked"No,oh this is bad,listen you can't tell anyone you remember them"i could tell she wasn't joking."what why?" She was about to respond when there was a knock at the door. A scruffy voice said sternly "Jane are you going to register him or not". "Yeah yeah I'm coming,just don't tell anyone I'll explain later"she practically whispered the last part to me. With that she stood up and motioned for me to follow out of the room.
As we exited I saw the rest of the building. There were long hallways down the left and right side of me. Just ahead there was almost what looked like a waiting room except with multiple desks people lined up at them. We walked to the far left "Hello welcome to the underworld please put out your hand" the man looked oddly familiar but I did what he said. He pricked my finger but instead of the warm red blood that I'm used to spilling out a thick almost golden looking substance spilled out,"don't worry it's just immortal blood,we all have it" Jane said. I sighed a breath of relief "okay move along,show him to his living space"the man said directed at Jane. She nodded and I followed her to the left of the room and out a door I didn't notice before.We were at what looked like a subway stop which I assumed it was.Before me was an almost endless city, hundreds of cultures visibly blending in,the Shanghai tower seemingly a block away from the Empire State Building."wow" I said "yeah,crazy that Ted bundee just pricked your finger, that's the whole endless torture thing I was talking about". I decided not to bother with that "no I mean,this city,it's beautiful". She smiled "yeah I guess it is, let's explore it".
