**Addies POV**
It's really hot today. I think to myself as I stare blankly at the tv currently playing 90210 (my current favorite show). This has become a daily unsaid tradition with the girls. "Liam is so hot" blurts Lola out of nowhere. "Hey you better watch it, what if Justin hears you." Rosemary says. "Oh please!" Kayley scoffs, "We all know that would be a blessing...WHAT? He's a jerk and we all know it." Honestly she's not wrong. Everyone know he treats her and everyone else like crap. "Well Addie you know I'm right. Tell her!"
Kayley pleads. I don't normally like getting involved with conflict but when it comes to Justin even I can't hold my tongue. "I'm sorry Lola, but I agree. You way too good for that jerk. Everyone is to be honest." We all just sit there in silence for a while. Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. I really hope she isn't mad at me.
I advert my attention back to the tv where Naomi and Liam are in some argument again. "Is this it" Lola whispers. We all in shared confusion look at Lola. "What do you mean" Rosemary asks with a concerned look on her face. Lola rolls her eyes "What I mean is, everyday we come over Addie's house and sit and watch tv. We sit and watch people do something with there lives, go on adventures and have fun. Meanwhile we just sit here. You see my theme. Sit sit sit." She looks down and picks at her already chipping nail polish. I could tell Lola was upset because she would often do this when somethings bothering her. "I'm sorry," I whisper, "is this because what I said." Lola sighs "No forget about what you said forget about Justin. This is about us not living up to our full potential. We never do anything." I sat there thinking for a moment. She wasn't wrong. We fell into a rut and it seems inescapable. Our summer consists of three things television, eat and sleep. In one week school will start and the school schedule begins. For me it's wake up, goto school, goto yearbook, go home, eat, shower, sleep, repeat. I never noticed until now how boring and routine my life was. "I have an idea," Kayley sings, bringing me back out of my thoughts. "We will make lists." her face full of excitement. The rest of us confused just sit in silence. She looks around the room at us awaiting a response and realizes there is none coming. "Sigh, must I explain everything" she rolls her eyes in distaste "10 things we have never done and want to do. By the day of our graduation we must complete our lists. We each must make our own tailored to our own desires." After talking it over for a while we all agree on the idea, with one twist the group gets to decide on one thing to add to each list. No limits are allowed. We spend about half an hour thinking of our lists. Eventually I come up with mine, the paper reads:
TO DO:
Sleepover outside
Finally get my first kiss
Finally get my first date
Skip school
Go streaking
Learn how to skateboard
Road trip with the Besties
Sneak into a concert
Pull an all nighter ( not involving homework or studying)
Shopping spree
Have a three way (group choice)By the end of this I'm truly terrified. I only came up with numbers 1,6,7,9, and 10. I couldn't think of the rest so Rosemary made them for me. I'm extremely shy I have barely even talked to a guy before. I have no idea how I'm going to pull it off. Not to mention if my father ever found out about this I would definitely be disowned. There's no way out of it, we mad a picky promise pact. It something we have been doing since the four of us became best friends in first grade. Well all but Kayley who have known each other since diapers. Our mothers were best friends before us and still were when her mom and dad passed away. "I better get going, the siblings will starve if I don't make them some food. Bye my lovelys." Kayley says as her and the other girls stand up to go home. School and our lists begin in just one week. One more week of normal. One more week of safe. One more week. I roll over in my bed and think
of the craziness my life is about to become and fall into an uneasy slumber.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
