Angelica popped up bright and early the next morning. She quickly got up and checked the time. Ahh 7 Am they'd probably leave around 10 ish. She quickly looked for what she would wear on such a wonderful occasion. Looking out her window noticing it was going to be a warm and sunny day, She pulled out a sun dress that she had never worn before. It was very beautiful and she rarely got to wear things she liked saying her mother picked out all her clothes for differnt occasions.
Finding white flats that matched perfectly with the short sun dress she went to the bathroom. Brushing her hair and got ready for the day.
When she finished she walked out of her room, almost running into Mrs. Mary as she brought her the morning tea. "Ah! Well dont you look breathtaking this morning!" Mrs. Mary said grinning.
She blushed Smiling at her. Mrs. Mary smirked a hand holding a plater with tea and the other on her hip. "Who are you seeing? A gentleman sweep you off your feet?" Angelica gasps.
"Ohhhhh No. Mother would love that ,but no prince charming yet. Just excited about meeting new people. I wonder if there nice?" Mrs. Mary frowns sighing and setting the plater on Angelicas small table.
"Hun, You do know that there not gunna be exactly happy...There bein sold. Its the worst feelin ever to feel owned. you know what im sayin?" Mrs. Mary pats her shoulder.
She nods and looks down. "Yeah I understand. Still we can always try. I mean you guys are like family to me. We're getting a new member!" She smiles happily.
Mrs. Marry shakes her head and smiles, "your such an innocent child arent you? well heres your tea. Your father told me to tell you he will be waiting for you outside. Have a good day Miss. Rose and be careful." She gave her a swift hug and walked out.
She sighs and sips her tea. Hopefully today would be a good day. She nods to herself and finishes her tea and grabs her small carry on purse. Heading out she goes out to there small horse carriage. Seeing her dads friend with him she puts on a huge smile and walks up swiftly to them.
"good morning, Now dont you look lovely." Alfred says looking quite stunning in his black suit. She smiles and nods. "Not as lovely as you in that suit, sir." They smile at eachother.
"You ready?" Her dad speaks and she nods giving there black horses a pat. "let's be on our way." She nods at the horsemen and gets into the cart like ride. Her father and his friend following.
"How many are we getting?" She asks her Father with questioning eyes. "Two or Three depending on what negros we get to choose from." She nods and looks out the window as her and her fathers friend talk about politics once more.
Finally, they pulled up at the town square. Since it was only about 5 minutes away from there house. She smiled at the crowded looking area and a huge van pulling up.
"Oh that must be them!" She smiled and squealed like a little girl. She was only about 17 and she still acted as if she was a child.
They pull up as we all get out my dad wraping his arm around mine in a gentlemanly gesture. We head to the group as Alfred and my father grab a biding stick waiting for the bids to begin we take a seat at the front as everyone piles in around us.
She smiles excitedly but keeps her posture straight. Then suddenly...it begins.
The biding goes on at first slowly bringing out children first. This makes her teary eyed. How can people take children from others . It reminded her of a story mary had told her once. About her child that had been tooken from her by a past owner.
It made her heart heavy with sadness. Finally they began with the women. These didnt really spike fathers interest saying we had Mrs. Marry and everyone loved her.
Then the males started. "Jaydon Carson. GOING ONCE GOING TWICE... SOLD TO THE YOUNG MAN IN BLACK." She noticed that the Jaydon guy was quite scarred up and looked hard and rough. Looks like Alfred liked him saying he spent 10,000 on him just then.
She watched as they went through each male. Some shorter, stronger, buffer than most. Father chose some ,but none quite caught her attention.
Her father whispered to her suddenly, "We should probably go. I think I have enough to fulfill are needs at home." She was about to nod and stand when the loud announcer called out.
"NOW FOR THE FINAL BID. THE NEGRO WE ARE ABOUT TO INTRODUCE IS VERY SMART WITH HIS WORDS FOR A BLACK GUY..-everyone began laughing and she snorted because of there rude comments-
HES BEEN PASSED ALONG BY PAST OWNERS BECAUSE NO ONE HAS BEEN ABLE TO HANDLE HIS DISRESPECTFUL WAYS. HES ALWAYS TRYING TO ESCAPE AND HAS BEEN BEATEN TO A PULP AND THE NEGRO KEEPS GOING. ALTHOUGH THE CIRCUMSTANCES HES A VERY BUILT YOUNG MAN AND IF FORCED CAN DO A VERY GOOD JOB IN THE FIELD. HERE IS WILLIAM SHATNER!!!"
All eyes where on the stage as they brought out a handsome man looked to be in his early 20's . Her mouth agape as she saw his bruised and scarred body. The announcer was correct when they said he was beat to a pulp. He had dog bite scars which ment he must have tried to run away.
His eyes scanned the crowd as she roamed his body. He has amazing abs. and a beautiful body other than the scars. while he watched everyone with a hard look on his face he spotted her and grunted a sly smile coming upon his face as he catches her checking him out.
She blushes and looks down as he looks her up and down licking his lips. Then she finally heard the announcer say "GOING ONCE GOING TWICE..." She noticed another male trying to bid for him and suddenly yanked her dads voting stick from his hands.
With some unknown strength she raised it into the air. Everyone looked at her even William in shoke. "ALRIGHT.. 25000 GOING ONCE.."
Her dad jerked her towards him. not wanting to cause a scene. "What are you doing!" She shakes her head. "SOLD TO THE BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE SUMMER DRESS." she looked at her dads eyes as he stared at her in anger.
She didnt know what came over her, but she did know that she was in serious trouble.
