"We need to talk," I hiss at Milo as Jennie leaves the living room to make our milkshakes.
He sighs. "Okay."
"You like her," I say, more of a statement than a question.
He looks at me. "No. What makes you say that?"
I snort. "You're such an idiot. Why haven't you said anything? I doubt she'd turn you down."
"No," he says again. "I can't tell her. We're best friends. She doesn't think me as anything more than just friends."
"You have to tell her," I hiss. "She thinks she's going to end up alone. You two are perfect for each other."
We hear the blender go off in the kitchen.
He holds up his hands. "I'm not saying or doing anything until she starts showing some interest in me. If she never does then I'll just have to find a way to get over her."
I hold my head in my hands. "How long have you liked her?"
Looking back up at him, I see a distant smile on his face. "The day she got dumped by Eli. She stopped by my house because her plans had been canceled and wanted to watch movies or something. She showed up at my door in a beautiful dress that went down to her knees and some heels. Her hair was down and the wind slightly blew it around her face and she was smiling up at me. She looked perfect and I wanted to punch Eli in the face for ever breaking her heart. But I couldn't tell her. I still can't. She doesn't see me that way. We're friends. Really good friends. I can't jeopardize that for anything."
I smack his arm. "How can you say that?" I demand. "You're probably the one she's looking for but doesn't know it yet. You have to tell her."
But he shakes his head. "If the eleven guys that like her from the website don't work, then I'll think about telling her. But I can't promise anything."
Just then the heart throb herself walks in the room with three of her delicious chocolate chip milkshakes. She takes a seat beside Milo and playfully elbows him. "Why so serious? It's Thanksgiving."
He smiles at her before making a face, making us all laugh. "You know," he says. "It's still early enough Thanksgiving tradition."
I laugh. "I highly doubt the mall is open."
Jennie looks at the time. "We have an hour to get there. Then they close at eleven. So we're good."
I groan. "We get in trouble every time. We're in our twenties, when will we learn?"
Jennie laughs. "Come on. It'll be fun."
"What about your online dating site? Are you just going to leave them hanging?"
Milo shoots me a look and I smirk. I'm going to get him to tell her eventually. And if that means making him more miserable, then why not?

"Hey," I say, coming up beside Milo. "If you don't want to tell her then don't make it obvious."
He rolls his eyes. "I'm not making it obvious."
I laugh. "Really? You stare after her every time she leaves, you laugh at everything she says, and don't even get me started on the way you put your arm around her. Stop flirting."
