MockingJay's Curse

Chapter Ten

"All SoulClan warriors! Assemble below Great Stone for a meeting!" All excited SoulClan warriors met below the Great Stone. They knew what was coming. "We have caught a little, dirty thief! That thief is from StormClan!"

All SoulClan cats growled or hissed menacingly. "Your lovely deputy and I have decided to attack StormClan at moonset! Be ready! Train your apprentices hard! Don't show mercy! WE.ARE.SOULCLAN" SoulClan cats cheered and yowled for their leader as he started planning out the attack.

MockingPaw heard the whole speech. 'Oh no no no! What have I done!' The black apprentice circled and paced around her prison, the measly sparrow she had gotten the day before, had maggots pouring out of its still bleeding heart. MockingPaw gagged as she picked the sparrow up and shoved it under the sticks that held the prison together. "Oi! What are you doin'?!" A new, gruff voice she hadn't heard before growl. "N-nothing!" MockingPaw replied, fearful of what they might do to her.

"AdderVenom! Leave the prisoner alone! We have more important things to discuss and prepare!" DeadStar yowled to the tom that was growling at her, "Coming DeadStar!" AdderVenom yowled, but added under his breath "These plans better not take long. Don't you try anything funny, thief!" MockingPaw heard AdderVenom turn and pad away. Leaving her alone in the cold, wet and dark prison.

DeadStar spoke quietly amongst his warriors. "We must have some warriors that know how to swim as well as fight! StormClan are very experienced at both, but they can't climb trees, so we need warriors to climb trees, and jump down on too of them..." DeadStar continued his attack plan, until it was all in place. Now all they had to do was wait.

MockingPaw laid down in the driest spot she could find in her prison, and slowly closed her eyes, hoping that when she woke up, everything would be better. In MockingPaw's dream, a cat with fur made of stars appeared in front of her. "Hello young one, I am SpiritCloud, SilentClan's medicine cat" MockingPaw felt fear tug at her stomach. "N-no ValleyWhisper is our medicine cat!" MockingPaw heard the sweet she-cat laugh, "I was your medicine cat before you were born, little one" SpiritCloud flicked her tail under MockingPaw's chin, who pulled away in fear. "W-w-why am I here then?" SpiritCloud's face went from bright and happy, to solemn and sad. "You are here because of what you have done. Because you started a war to end all wars. The battle of ALL the Clans."
