MockingJay's Curse

Chapter Fifteen

"I told SoulClan I was a StormClan apprentice..." MockingPaw continued, the story spilling out of her jaws. "So you... You lied to SoulClan... Started a war here... And your own Clan doesn't even know this?!" RumbleStar hissed at MockingPaw. "N-no they d-don't..." MockingPaw confessed meekly, her ear tips burning with shame. RumbleStar muttered under his breath "What a brave but stupid apprentice you are..." Then he spoke loudly and clearly. "Well... Since you have come here to end this battle... Go ahead..." As soon as the words were out, SoulClan cats lunged at MockingPaw from all angles.

MockingPaw yowled in pain and confusion. Were SoulClan and StormClan... Working together?... An unknown cat bit down hard on MockingPaw's tail, sending shocks up her spine. She felt trapped under the blanket of cats on top of her. Then she heard a familiar voice yowl "SilentClan! Attack!" It was SmokeSong. Oh no.

SmokeSong broke through the StormClan ivy barrier that guarded the entrance. He let out a blood curdling screech before plunging himself into the fray. "SilentClan! Attack!" He heard himself screech again. "MockingPaw!" SmokeSong yowled as he dodged and weaved through the battle, keeping her dark pelt in sight. "MockingPaw! Wait!" He yowled again, hoping she would hear him. Why was she here? Why did this battle start?

MockingPaw fought desperately to stay alive. She had to. For DarkKit and for her mother. "MockingPaw!" She heard a familiar voice yowl behind her, but she couldn't stop moving. Cats were always on top of her. Smothering her. "Get off of me!" She heard the words rip from her mouth, ripping her throat. MockingPaw felt rage build inside of her. Unknown rage she had kept hidden through all of her kithood. Now it was time to be released

SmokeSong finally caught up to MockingPaw, defending her, as she seemed to be frozen, a slow rage building on her face. "MockingPaw... Let the little bird fly..." SmokeSong suddenly whispered to her. Then her rage exploded.
