Kay's POV

I stopped dead in my tracks. I was sure there was no one here unless they were in the forest. For a moment all I could hear was my heart hammering in my chest.

Everything turned gray, and I considered running. A blinding light flashed and a yellow... triangle appeared? A triangle? Really?

I almost laughed. The weird triangle thing had black arms and legs, and a black cane and top hat.

I wasn't worried about the triangle, just mostly why everything was gray. Nothing was moving either, except for me and the triangle.

"What's going on, you,  I don't know, obtuse triangle?" I asked firmly.

"Bill Cipher's the name," he said, zooming up in my face. I stepped back a little. "I'm here to talk to you about making a deal."

"Alright," I said suspiciously. "But what are you?"

"Just your everyday average dream demon!" Bill floated back into the sky.

My eyebrows raised. This had to be a prank. "I'm not making a deal with the likes of you," I snapped.

"Ah, come on Hummingbird, you know you want to," Bill tried.

"No, I don't," I repeated, turning my back. "But just say the deal to me, I won't accept it anyway."

"You won't ever have to move away again, for just a small favor when I need it," Bill offered.

I looked back at him reluctantly. Maybe not moving anymore would be such a bad idea, and a favor isn't much...

No, said a voice in the back of my head. Don't accept... It's not real.

"Whaddya say?" Bill inquired.

Not real...

"No," I said quietly. "I'm not going to."

"You'll change your mind soon enough..."

The world turned normal again, Bill was gone, and I felt nauseous. I clutched my stomach gently. I looked up at the sun, it was already rising.

No way, I thought, It was only like five minutes...

I staggered to my porch and looked through the windows. My parents and Dean were at the kitchen table, eating cereal. I straightened and walked through the door.

"Hi," I said glumly, replaying what had happened outside in my head.

"There you are!" My dad said. "Where were you? We were worried sick!"

"Oh, um, someone rang the doorbell," I explained, sitting down at the table. I had never realized how tired I was.

"We were up since five thirty. No one rang the doorbell," my mom said, touching my arm as I took the cereal box from Dean.

"Oh, I mean at like ten..."

My parents exchanged worried glances, and Dean just smirked. I poured my Lucky Charms and began to eat slowly.

I didn't have much of an appetite, though. I ate about half the bowl then pushed it away.

"Are you feeling okay?" My mom asked as I walked to my room.

"Fine..." I yawned.

I went into my room and collapsed tiredly on the bed. What was this feeling of tiredness? I didn't get much time to think before I fell asleep.
