Hi, everyone! I'm happier than a blue winged cat (comment if you get the reference) to be writing my first book! At any time if you spot mistakes, or have ideas about where the story could go, feel free to comment with them if I use your ideas I'll dedicate the chapter I used them in to you. please don't steal my ideas, this is an original story and I'd prefer it if people didn't copy. Sorry for the long author's note, I'll usually just let Alyx or one of her friends explain things.
chapter 1
(Alyx POV)
Let's get something straight. Even though you're reading from my point of view first, I'm not the main character of this story. Yes, I know this is a story, I am a watcher after all. Watchers are the people who watch everyone and everything all the time, after all, nothing can happen if no one is there to observe it. We basically make sure time continues to work and flow in a straight line. But that's enough about watchers. You came for a story, so let us begin!
All stories must start Somewhere, but this story starts Nowhere, you see, it begins in the place between life and death. Most can only flick through, barely catching a glimpse. This place is "The Light" that the dying often refer to. None that are living may see Enlightenment, the world of the dead, and that is why there is Nowhere. Besides my sisters and I, there are only two capable of staying in Nowhere other than in passing. These two are, of course, Life and Death.
Life and Death, (or as they are called among those who know them personally; Vita Vivificantem and Torva Messor) are preparing for their first day at Element Academics on the physical plane and planet of Htrae (pronounced he-tra-eh) let's take a look.
(See Gen! I can do sophisticated intros! and you thought I couldn't,)
(Gen: Alyx, Shut up! they can still hear you!)
(oops...)
(Torva POV)
I put on a bright yellow dress and tie up my white hair that fades to black at the tips, with pink and blue bows for my first day at element academics. Me and my sister spent a while working on the lie we would use about our identities. I couldn't tell you how long because time is difficult here. Any-ways, since no one really knows our actual names, Me and Vita are just going by our regular names. This would, of course be problematic if anyone there knew Latin, but as it's a almost dead language from a world parallel to Htrae, I think we're good. Some people there may be named in this language, but the gods choose the names. I packed... I guess about a week ago. I run down the stairs. Vita is sitting in the kitchen eating breakfast. "Hurry up!" I shout at Vita, " We're gonna be late! I know that you've been going there for a couple years now, but I haven't!"
"Calm down, Ms. Reaper, the only unit of time in Nowhere is Nowhen, we can't be late for anything, now, go over the plan with me."
"Fine. We're siblings who were adopted by different families 1 year ago. I'll meet you when my room-mates introduce me to their friends."
"Good"
"And you know my last name is Messor, not reaper. Be a bit of a give-away, wouldn't it?"
"Means the same thing. By the way, why do you take the form of a 9-year-old?"
"Because it fits my personality the best," I grin, "let's go!"
~~~~~The End Of Chapter One~~~~~
(A/N)
This chapter is dedicated to Jocelyn for introducing me to Wattpad and being a good friend.
Also, improper grammar on Torva's part is intentional.
