chapter 2
~~Recap~~
Alyx: in the last chapter Torva and Vita left Nowhere for school on Htrae.
~~back to the story~~
(Alyx POV)
I guess I have to explain some parts of torva and Vita's plan in greater detail. You're probably wondering how Torva will share a room with Vita's friends even though they will be older than her by a few years and have attended this school for at least a year now, right? Well it's really quite simple, the school of Element Academics allows students to start training at any age so long as they are able to control one of the elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Shadow, and Light) and remain there studying for as long as they like. Each of them must at least attend for 5 years in order to be allowed to use their elemental powers freely. People aren't roomed by age nor gender either. Just thought I'd explain that.
(Torva POV)
Vita has left and I finish gathering my bags and step out of Nowhere into the house that I "live" in on Htrae. The car pulls up and I hug the spectres that act as my "parents" goodbye. Gotta keep up appearances.

When I arrive at the school I enter through the front office. There is an older kind looking secretary sitting at the desk typing on a computer.
She looks up as I approach her "Hello, dear, may I help you?"
"Umm...yes, I'm Torva Messor, 9-years-old, shadow element. This is my first day and I need my schedule and room number and locker please miss."
"Of course, little one. You know you look exactly like someone I knew when I was younger."
Little one. If she knew. I know this woman, we met one time, her dog died and she was crying. I'd had to comfort her. She had been my first living friend. "Interesting, maybe it was my grand mother, I've been told that I look remarkably like her, I was named for her actually." This is, of course, a lie. I don't even have a mother and father.
The lady, her name is Sherry, hands me some papers, "all the details of your courses are here"
"Thank you, Sherry"
"How do you know my name?"
"Your name tag."
"Of course, silly me. Classes start next week."

Here we go, apartment 208. I push open the door and peer inside. Two people look over at me from mid conversation. They look like twins except for their hair and eyes, the boy has grey hair and yellow eyes, and the girl has blonde hair and green eyes. I grin hugely at them. "Hi! I'm Torva Messor, shadow element!"
"I'm Caelum, air element. And this is my twin sister, Solum, an earth elemental" The boy said, his voice seemed slightly growlish, and he seemed wary of something, me probably.
"What, no last names?"
"We don't have any. Our parents died before they could name us and no one ever told us their names." This time it was Solum who spoke.
"Huh. Lollipop?"
"I like you, not apologizing for their deaths,"- "we really never knew them." Caelum finished Solum's sentence for her
"Sooooo, you don't want a lollipop?"
"Sure, I'll have one, but Caelum doesn't really care for sweets."
"Here! I like you. Can we be friends? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeese?"
"Aw, why not. You're so sweet"
I grin and give her a big hug. "Do you have other friends? Are they nice? Can I meet them? How many are there? What elements do they have? Are you popular? Do you have a Boyfriend? What-" I get cut off.
"How about I answer all your questions when you meet them, okay?"
"OKAY"
At this point Caelum has gone back to whatever it was that they were doing before I had interrupted them. "How about you show Torva to her room?" It seemed as though there was something else said but not out loud.
"Can you? pleasepleaseplease?"
"I can't say no to you, but a warning, it'll be pretty bare. We can go get you some decorations tomorrow, mmkay?
"Okay!"
