~Rhys POV~
I swiftly moved through the corridors of the Night palace, ignoring the curious looks on the faces of those around me whom I breezed by. My steps were swift and sure in my solid leather boots but I never made I sound as I rounded the corner onto the long corridor whose walls were ornately carved black marble. There was only one room at the end of this passageway and I needed to make sure it was absolutely perfect before I went to pick up Feyre.
As my mate, I wished her to have nothing less.
Not that she knew this of course. I don't think she has felt the all- consuming pull which binds us together and I was in no emotional state to tell her at the time when I did.
When I first realised it the night after she released all fae from Amarantha's wishes, I immediately departed into the shadows. I had smelt it from her, calling to me, it was like liquid fire, running along my bones and setting me alight with intense emotions I had yet to understand. Mate, partner, eternity.
These past few weeks had been torture without her. I had numbed the bond in a vain attempt to try and spare myself from missing her. And I most certainly did not want to see anything her and Tamlin got up to. But I needed to make sure that my Court was everything she dreamed of and certainly superior to Tamlin's. Not that that was hard to accomplish. As the Night Court had been uninhibited for a while - it's entire population being Under the Mountain - there were a few repairs to be taken care of... and a few dead bodies from the original struggles against Amarantha... but apart from that, I had pretty much just focused the staff's efforts on places Feyre will enjoy visiting. I'm really looking forward to spending lots of time with her and getting to know who she is and what makes her happy. I'll repair the rest of the Court once her week is up.
But now, as I entered the main quarters in which Feyre would be living in for a week every month, I was excited to see that she was going to love it - despite someone moving the sprinkles of pure gold I had thrown everywhere to display my immense wealth. (I bet Tamlin couldn't do that.)
I had warned my people several times that my guest must be treated with the uttermost respect, and that if she asked for anything, they must immediately become servants to her will. Hopefully my darling won't abuse this privilege but with Feyre, everything is more interesting.
So after a thorough sweep of the rooms, I try (once again in vain) to hold in my giddy delight as I went to call upon Feyre's debt. Being too impatient for flying, I pulled myself into and through the shadows. I eagerly followed the bonds of both bargain and mates which were connected to Feyre. I let them flood through me, once again filling me with their certainty. And then I reached the Spring Court.
Hiiii, sooo, this is my first story/fanfic on Wattpad so I don't exactly know how it works from here. But I assume that you can comment or review somewhere so please do.
I welcome all feedback, even negative, as I trust that it will help me improve somehow. Grammar nazis rein free. If you have any ideas of fun stuff that can happen next, feel free to comment/ message me (somehow).
