"Are you Jessica?" demanded the tall girl.
Jessica swayed back on her feet and puckered her lips before answering. "Yup, good guess."
The way Jessica answered seemed to infuriate the girl but she attempted to keep her cool.
"I'm Gaby and this is my sorority. I have a favor that I need to ask you," she said through gritted teeth.
"What's that Gaby?" asked Jessica. She was making sure to keep her tone neutral but every word ony made the girl angrier.
"I need you to stay away from Jake. He's my guy and all he does is talk about you. It gets quite annoying and I don't know what kind of thing you guys have going on but I will not be thrown to the side like some old trash. That I not what I am.”
Jessica stared blankly at her for a second then slowly turned to Natalie. Both of them cracked a smile and before the other girls knew what was happening, they burst into laughter.
Gaby was at fist shocked and then infuriated. She folded her arms across her chest and looked at Jessica menacingly.
"Oh so you think it's funny that I'm upset? Maybe I should just go tell Sue."
Jessica stopped laughing and took a step towards the girl, closing the distance between them. She was pretty quiet but up until now no one had threatened her like Gaby had. Her Alpha blood was pumping through her veins and she could feel her wolf and tiger trying to fight for dominance.
"I like your sister but I really don't give a damn if you tell her or not. Take your twelve year old head out of your ass and listen to me because I'm not explaining this again,” spat Jessica.
Gaby took a step back and for the first time Jessica saw real fear in her eyes. Human or not, Gaby could still sense the power coming off of Jessica.
"Jake is a friend if you can even really call it that. I see him because her brother, "said Jessica, pointing to Natalie, "knows him. You can do whatever you want with him because we will never be anything more than just friends. I'm not really sure why he talks about me but next time he does you have my permission to tell him to shut the hell up."
Natalie had both hands over her mouth and was unsuccessfully trying to suppress her laughter. Instead, it sounded like somebody was trying to strangle a pig and wasn't doing a good job.
"Is there a problem?" asked Nicole, coming to stand in between the girls.
"No, Gaby and her friends were just leaving, right?" asked Jessica.
"Yeah sure, let's go girls,” mumbled Gaby.
She gave all three of them one last look before digging her hands into her pockets and walking in the opposite direction. Jessica watched them go with a triumphant smirk on her face.
Natalie reached over and punched her arm. "That was hilarious! Who knew that my friend had grown a pair when she went to visit her parents?"
Nicole rolled her eyes but was smiling at both girls anyway. "It's good to see you back Jess. Why don't you go have a drink and mingle with some of the people here? We invited some of the boys and a few surrounding sororities."
Jessica returned the smile. "Okay, I'm just going to go put my stuff down and change."
"Great," said Nicole, walking over to a girl who was waving her arms frantically.
Jessica started to walk inside and could sense Natalie's presence. She figured it was best not to say anything and just let her friend tag along.
"Sooo..." trailed Natalie, shutting the door behind them, "Can I ask why you're back early or is that a touchy subject?"
