there was a much longer than normal silence, people starting to get uncomfortable and then hannah spoke. a smile crossing her lips "yes!!" she beamed. i must admit, everyone breathed a sigh of relief when she said that...except me and olly. because i knew, i don't know exactly what i knew but i just knew and olly, well you can picture that for yourself.
maisie started clapping and so did everyone else as brad slipped the diamond ring onto hannah's finger. "i love you" he kissed her, the room falling silent again "i love you too" this was all too fake for me, i didn't understand how she could lie like this, but part of me stopped myself from saying anything, i guess it was just wrong for me to ruin this moment that was so special to brad and hannah.
everyone hugged and said "congratulations" even olly, but when it got quiet he stood up "well i need to go,thanks for today congrats again you two" he said to hannah and brad,walking over to the front door and slamming it behind him. i squinted out the window and could just make out him crying as he made his way down the drive way but i decided not to go after him.
when i went back to the living room everyone was clapping again "what have i missed?" i asked, sitting down next to jai
hannah smiled "brad's moving in with us!" this all happened so fast, but i guess i was so happy for her i just didn't say anything "thats so cute" was all i could think of to say
•next day•
i was the last one up, which is strange for me. when we have guests i'm normally up first. mat and kara had stayed the night,so had brad.
i made my way downstairs, the living room was really noisy and it was mainly hannah screaming "DONT YOU DARE IT WONT BE THE SAME" what had happened?i panicked,what if it was brad?
as i ran into the living room maisie was stood up,holding blonde hair dye in her hand. oh that was it, maisie was dying her hair. my heart returned to normal pace and i sat down next to hannah "tell her Lilly,she can't can she?" i giggled "of course she can,just let her you faggot it won't change that much"
hannah huffed and sunk into her chair "whatever, but when it messes up don't moan at me" maisie laughed and bolted up the stairs.
i went and got some cereal but when i got to the kitchen kara and mat were getting off "ohhh" i whispered and swivelled back into the living room. "where's brad?" i asked hannah, as she took a swig from her monster
"he's gone to get clothes for later!" she said
"later?"
"yeah mais has invited freddie and jai round for a double date thing" she laughed, this sounded like the kind of thing maisie would do
"oh ok what time?"
"one" hannah sat back and i looked at the clock, i had two hours to get ready so i decided to skip breakfast and get ready straight away.
once i'd done my make up and put on a clean dress, i ran back downstairs where maisie was looking in the mirror,her hair was now bright blonde it looked really nice "like it?" maisie bit her lip,obviously not sure whether she did or not. "yep!it suits you" i smiled "thanks Lil i wish Hannah would say the same" we both laughed "she'll get used to it" just then hannah came through the door "no she won't!" hannah was trying to be serious which always makes me laugh,the kind of laugh where your jaw hurts. "i'm still calling you ginger you know" kara said,opening the kitchen door "whatever" maisie laughed, walking through the open door and setting the table. "i need to go out for a bit" mat looked awkward "but everyone's coming round babe,can't it wait!?" kara asked, he shook his head "sorry babe it can't" and before she could say another word he was out the front door. kara flopped onto a chair and rested her head in her hands "whats up mate?" hannah asked "he's cheating,i know it" kara said,her eyes filling with tears "then end it with him" i sat beside her "but i have no evidence that he actually has cheated,i need to see for myself" she stood up,the chair squeaking on our kitchen floor "i'm gonna follow him,i'll be back soon" she sniffed,marching out the door. the room fell silent "he's a prick"hannah said,slamming her can onto the kitchen table "she needs to leave him" she got up and started pouring the drinks "honey i'm home" brad laughed, walking into the kitchen with a massive top man bag "finally" hannah laughed "go get changed!" brad ran up the stairs dragging his bag behind him.
just then the doorbell rang
i jumped up from my seat and skidded across the hallway. Jai and freddie were stood outside, both of them smiled "alright?" Freddie said, walking in and taking his shoes off, he made his way into the kitchen. Jai smiled at me again "hello beautiful" i felt my cheeks go red "hello" he hugged me and placed a single kiss on my lips "i missed you" his whisper tickled my neck "its been less than a day you idiot" i gently hit his chest,making him smirk again "you're weak" he giggled,i hit him again,making sure it wasn't that hard. "OW!" he yelled, doubling up. "oh my god i'm sorry i didn't mean to hurt you" i panicked and he started laughing "who's an idiot now eh?" he gave me that lop sided smirk and kissed me again.
both of us went into the kitchen where everyone else was already sat at the table,Jai pulled out a chair for me and for himself. "wheres kara?" Freddie asked. I looked at Hannah "she gone after Mat" i said
"where's he?" Freddie asked again,clueless
"with some other girl i guess..."
"or boy" said Maisie from the other side of the kitchen
"Maisie!" i giggled
"well you never know.."
"when's she back?" he asked
"who knows?she'll probably text one of us"said hannah, pouring the drinks
i started worrying about Kara. What if she really did find him with someone else,how would she cope?But i decided to snap out of it because Maisie served up our food. The kitchen went quiet as we all ate,but pretty soon after the first person finished, Kara slammed the front door and ran into the kitchen. Her eyes were puffy and blood shot, i jumped up from my seat and didn't need to say anything. I hugged her and let her cry onto my shoulder "why did he do this?" she mumbled into the fabric of my dress. "HES AN ABSOLUTE DICK AND IF I EVER SEE HIM AGAIN I'M GOING TO BATTER HIM" said Hannah,slamming her drink down on the table. Kara took the spare seat and told us what happened;
She followed Mat to the pub and as she pulled up she saw him with another girl,and not just any girl! One of Kara's old friends from collage! She got out her car and slapped him across the face,which surprised me the most and told him "i never want to see you again" which was a lie because she told me later how much she still loves him and she wants him to just come home,but she couldn't think of anything else to say. "You'll get over that twat" Hannah said,washing up. "We'll think of something" said Maisie,taking Freddie's flat peak. Kara nodded "yeah we will.." she didn't sound certain,almost as though she was kidding herself but what more can you do?
I took the bottle of wine into the living room where Jai and Brad were sat "hey i have an idea!" said Brad as i poured 6 glasses of wine and a monster can.
"whats your idea?" i asked,sitting next to Jai
"We could go on holiday,like all of us,to get Kara happy again?" this sounded crazy but there was something about it that made my stomach go funny "YES!" i squealed The others came in "whats going on?" Hannah asked taking her 9th can of monster so far today. Jai smiled "Brad thinks we should all go on holiday?" everyone nodded "That sounds so sick!" said hannah "but where?"
we thought "Miami?" Jai suggested "no too far away" said Maisie
"i know!" hannah put her can down "ibiza!" This sounded good to me and the same to everyone else "yeah!" we all nodded "ok so when are we gonna book it?" i asked
everything went quiet again as we thought "you know what? lets book it for the weekend" Freddie smirked "this is a YOLO moment?" Brad,Freddie and Jai all laughed. "should we?" i said
"yep!" Kara seemed up for it so that was sorted. I ran upstairs to get the laptop and my credit card,suddenly getting excited
we looked for a decent hotel and surprisingly we found one! Then we booked the flight and that was everything, we had three days to get packed and ready! Hannah turned the speakers on and started dancing to her favourite song 'Green Garden' i hate it,but i was in such a good mood that even i started dancing to it. We all laughed and danced and drank for hours,it was 6 o'clock by the time we all laid on the sofas watching a film
