Chapter V: The Trouble Is Never Over

"You okay Nate?" Jack asked.

Nate has been drinking frequently and has been on a down mood. He wasn't as pumped up as he was before.

"Yeah, I'm fine for the billionth time" Nate answered.

"I'm just checking on ya'. We have to get on stage in a few" Jack said.

It was fun.'s third day in California. Jack and Andrew were enjoying the trip so far but of course Nate has his problems. Supposedly they're having an interview soon and Nate doesn't want to screw it up. Hopefully nothing will pop up about the incident.

Nate made his way up on the stage. Screaming fans from each corner and guards keeping an eye. He enjoyed the fact that everyone was here to be entertained. The signs and poster the fans held up in the air warmed Nate's heart. He was ready to start the show.

"How's everyone?" Nate said into the microphone.

The crowd screams and rumbles the stage.

"Good. Well, I'm doing fine so let's start off with We Are Young"

The music began and everyone in the crowd sang along. The concert was a success. The hours passed by fast and all of the people were tired out. Jack headed to the bathroom to refresh himself. Nate and Andrew headed to get drinks of water.

"Andrew we're going to have an interview in a couple of weeks" Nate explained.

"Oh yeah, almost forgot about it. Do you have an idea on what they're asking us?" Andrew asked.

"Nope. I have no clue so be prepared"

Jack came into the room and grabbed a bottle of water.

"So, have you spoke with Katherine yet?" Jack asked Nate.

"No, not since we landed here" Nate answered.

"Don't worry. Sooner or later this conflict will end" Andrew assured.

"So that card that Mike left you. What was it for?" Madeline questioned.

"I really don't know. I hope its nothing that I should worry about" Katherine answered.

"I have a feeling he has interest in you"

"No, no, no why you say that?"

"Because I examined it and on the back of the card it says something"

Madeline gave the card to Katherine. Katherine flipped it to the back and it read:

'I'll make it worth your wild. To make you smile than ever before. I'll make you feel good from your head to your toes. I have a feeling we'll get along so just give me a call. Don't trust the one you're holding now because with me I'll make sure you're the only one I need. ~ Yours Truly, Mike'

"I guess you're right, Madeline" Katherine said.

"You planning on calling him?" Madeline asked.

"Maybe. I don't want to be rude to him but I don't want him to take advantage of me or to get in between me and Nate"

"Well, be careful is all I have to say"

Madeline patted Katherine on the back and headed up stairs to take a short nap.

'Maybe I should call him now. It's just to keep me occupied' Katherine thought. She picked up her cell phone and dialed the number.

"Hello?" Mike said.

"Yes, um... Hi, this is Katherine"

"Oh, what's up?"

"I thought I might call you. I'm out of things to do so I thought this would be a good idea"

"A good idea indeed"

Mike on the other hand was recording the conversation they were having. He thought he could get some juice out of Katherine for the tabloids.

"So, um...I was wondering if you would like to hang out sometime with me and Madeline" Katherine suggested.

"Yeah, sounds great. How's Nate and the rest of the gang?" Mike asked.

"Oh, I haven't really talked with Nate since he left"

"Still angry at him?"

"I wouldn't say angry but disappointed. I wish I had something more for him"

"Oh, its okay. Remember guys like him that falls easily into someone's hands shouldn't deserve more"

"I don't think he fell into her hands because he wanted to. It was an accident and I still love him deeply"

"Trust me your thinking it all wrong" Mike tried to explain.

"I don't know but I strongly disagree. Talk with you later. I have to go. Bye" Katherine said ending the conversation.

Mike got angry. He didn't get anything useful to send to the media. Maybe hanging out with her would do the trick. Maybe even send a couple of workers to check up on Nate, Andrew and Jack.

"Hey, I'm Andrea. I'll be staying around with you guys"

Andrea was the girl that fun. had offered to stick around took book up events and do touch ups to clothing and make-up with Rachel who also came along on the trip.

"Nice to met you" Jack said and then Nate and Andrew followed.

"I know its been a rough week and I'm here to smooth things out. Oh, and don't worry about one little thing" Andrea promised. She winked at Nate as she brushed her shoulder next by him as she passed by.

Nate looked at Jack and Andrew. They knew what Nate was thinking and Nate was about to speak his mind.

"Oh fuck no. We can't have another of these hanging around if they just want to play around with me and you guys" Nate explained.

"I know but she's all we have" Andrew replied.

"We didn't get any other requests for the job and we got her short notice. If I were you, stay your ground and nothing will go wrong" Jack told Nate.

"I guess. I hope you're right and if you're not...you have a lot of explaining to do to Katherine once we get back" Nate warned. "I keep that promise" Jack said.
