"Jaxson Draxen?"
"Here." I replied, glancing at the ceiling, pulling my hood up farther. I knew what was about to happen.
"What kind of parent names their son with two X's? Am I right?"
"Jansen! Sit down right now. I don't want to hear your voice again! Now then, Edgar Poe?"
I tuned her out, putting my nose back into my book. She kept going down the list. I can't believe Mrs. Henshalf doesn't take more action. I tuned back, just hearing the last name.
"Gwen Phelsh?"
There wasn't a response. She called the name again. "Gwen?"
"Yes! I'm here!" A girl with light brown hair skidded into the room, her flower shirt and jeans stained with mud blotches. "Our truck got stuck in some mud. I'm sorry I'm late." She walked to her desk without one more word, and promptly sat down. We looked at each other, and she smiled, causing me to blush. I quickly turned my head, but I think she caught me. I heard her giggling to herself.

I plopped down at the lunch table, holding a surprisingly edible plate of nachos. Gwen had already beat me, as usual.
"That poor old truck of yours." I said, my voice dripping with sarcasm.
"I was stuck! It really was. I had to walk a mile to get here. Anyways, anything new with you?" She replied
"Of course there is." I pulled out my phone and showed her a picture. "Third egg. Shiny noibat."
Gwen's mouth dropped. "OMG Jax! You never stop surprising me. I mean, it is just so adorable and... Oh no. 7:00."
I turned my head, and sure enough, a gang of assholes were headed our way. I pulled the light blue hoodie up over my bright white hair, another thing they like to tease my about. I turned back around, and kept eating.
Jansen, the leader, the one who enjoys this the most, walked up behind me. "I'm so tired guys. Is it nap time yet?" Laughs erupted from the group, all the while Jansen just smirked. Gwen looked at me, they never picked on Gwen, which I was glad for. She doesn't deserve that.
Tweddle-Dee, a kid I had named because he was very dumb, reached out and pulled down my hood.
"Hey!" I said, pulling my hood back up. "Oh no, I can't see. His hair's to bright!" More laughs could be heard from the peanut gallery. Jansen stepped back up, and pulled a piece of paper put of his pocket. "I have been waiting for this one. Hey nerd!" I looked up and met his glare. "Stand up." I stood up, having to look up, as I was easily 6 inches shorter than him. "What is L + [(60/6)-10]+ 70 -65 + 2*3 -3 + r? I know you know it. Oh, and keep the segments intact."
Everyone but me looked at him, puzzled by what he just said. But as soon as he said it, I knew what the answer was. I just didn't want to say it.
"Come on Smalls. I need some help. Please, spell it out for me." His voice very drawn out.
"Loser" I mumbled.
"What was that? I didn't hear you."
"Loser!" I yelled.
"Ha! You really are a nerd, Pokèfag!"
I couldn't look him in the eye. I could feel Gwen looking at me, but I did not return her gaze. She stepped up. "That is enough Jansen! Just go away!"
I felt tears start to well up. I kept looking down.
"Oh, and what's a little girl going to do?"
