:: Kadyn's POV ::
The building was surrounded in forest. Pine and Douglas Fir, and many other Coniferous Trees, are the main ones I see through the barred windows. I glance down at the unconscious Katherine beside me. The agent people put these weird metallic gloves on her hands after they threw her in back here.
The tires of this military vehicle bump along through the thick snow, trying desperately not to get stuck. The snowflakes swirl around outside the barred window, almost teasing me at how freely they twist and twirl.
Before long, the vehicle stops short in front of a giant stone structure. An ancient stone making up an ancient castle. But also not a castle.
The door is unbolted and opens with a deep creak. The people haul out Katherine first and bolt the door behind them, leaving me alone in the cold, inclosed metal space. I quickly suck the electricity out of the simple lightbulb handing over head, storing it away for later if necessary.
When the door creaks open me, I act upon impulse; kicking the head of the man leaning in. I hop out sideways, rolling on the snow and losing my hat in the process. I swear under my breath and turn back for it, only to find that another agent had picked it up. I summon a shadow with the flick of my wrist, sending the man falling down the hill. I brush the snow of my cap and stick it firmly on my head. An entire group of agents come rushing out the "castle" brandishing tasers and other guns.
I do my best to fight them off but eventually I mess up and slip. I shakily stand back up to find my wrists being cuffed together. My eyes fall in defeat as I am dragged into the stone structure in front of me. I am thrown rather forcefully into a cell across from Katherine. But she's still knocked out so there isn't much for me to do but wait. My eyes slowly close as I drift off to a much needed sleep.
:: Katherine's POV ::
Black. The color of darkness. The color I really don't like so much anymore. It and me have been staring face to face for several hours now. But I'm tired of the deep color. I try desperately to open my eyes, but it's like I forgot how.
Then, as if by magic, my eyes finally open. Dull gray stone walls with a darker gray iron bars. I sigh in defeat. Stupid colors. I sit up and lean against the wall to the left of my cell, looking at my surroundings. At first, I didn't realize why I couldn't bring a bolt of lightning to fry the machinery holding me in, but then I see the glove things covering my hands. I try to pull them off, yelling out in frustration when I couldn't.
I can see Kadyn slumped against the back wall, sleeping away. I kick at the bars, losing my hope of being free with each feeble movement of my legs.
"Are you done yet? That's getting very annoying."
"No." I hiss.
"My name is Baron Von Strucker and I believe you are Katherine, correct?"
I frown and say nothing.
"Okay then. You'll go first." And walks off without a second thought.
The barred door opens with little resistance. The guards march in, haul me to my feet, and drag me out and down the long stone hall. Backwards.
"Hey! If I am probably going to get killed, can I at least see where I am being taken?" I yell.
Kadyn startles awake and crawls to the front of her cell, watching me be taken away in silence. Suddenly, the lights flicker out; I grin in Kadyn's general direction, grateful that she still cares.
The Strucker guy barks orders at some of the guard people to get the electrical power back on. The guard-like people scramble around flipping switches and typing on keyboards until the electrical power flicker on the lights once more.
"What caused that?" Stricter demands angrily.
"We don't know, sir. The electricity output was just gone, sir." The tech stutters.
"Find the cause!"
The people stood staring for a second too long.
"NOW!"
They hesitated no more and scramble back to their stations to find the reason the lights went out.
"Now, for Project Alpha Beta."
"What's your name again?"
"Baron Von Strucker."
"Yeah. That's it. I'm terrible with names."
"You won't be for much longer. Strap her in. And keep the gloves on."
I am dragged over to what looks like a dentist patient's chair thing. The straps are made of metal and aren't really straps at all. Most like iron cuffs holding my hands to my side, my legs, feet, and torso to the chair.
"Are we ready to start the process, Doctor?" Strucker asks a man in a white lab coat.
"Yes sir. All the levels are at their peak for the experiment."
At hearing the word, Strucker promptly marches over and a flicks several switches on a machine to my left.
"The Convertor is ready for the operation." He says.
"The computers and analyses data are ready, sir." One man responds.
"The agents are prepared for the incapacitation afterwards, sir." Another guy says
"Well then. Project Alpha Beta is a go!" Strucker announces. He turns to me and smiles with quite the nasty grin.
"Sweet dreams, Alpha Katherine!"
I don't know where the pain came from but all I know is that this is no accidental pain. I allow the scream to escape from my lips, but yet the agony continues. It pushes ever deeper into my mentality, wielding an eraser to erase my memories. One by one.
"No!" I cry out. "Stop it!"
But as much as my wriggle to get free, I am stuck fast. Helpless to the pain and the torture. I just want it to end so much.
While I wriggled in pain I heard someone faintly yelling that someone was there at the base that I was in.
Suddenly the pain stopped. The pain that felt like my body was being stabbed hundreds of times with thick needles over and over again, each nerve screaming out in pain, just stopped.
Was I dead? Was this the cold, dark afterlife that many fear? If so then someone needs to turn on some lights asap.
Suddenly feeling came back to my body. I felt the cold metal cuffs around my wrists and ankles. I was met with silence and the chill of winter wind that wasn't there when I was in the chair. I tried to open my eyes but was to weak to do so. I felt someone walk by me. Then I felt someone get the cuffs off, it was by then I had my energy back and I snapped my eyes open and saw who was standing in front of me. It was-
