Unsure//Phan

There's a new kid in home room. He says his name is Dan. I try not to stare. I keep my head down and start to doodle on my math homework. Dan comes up to me.
"Mind if I sit here?" He asks
I shake my head not trusting myself to speak. He sits down. I look at him. He's wearing all black, he coughs awkwardly. I realize I'm staring I look away.
"Hey could u help me... I don't know where all my classes are"
"Uhm sure." I replied "let me see your schedule."
He handed it to me and I looked it over. My heart skipped a beat.  Out of the 9 periods in our school day we had 6 periods together. Homeroom, math, science, lunch and PE.
"Well next you have math and I'm in that class too so you can just follow me."
"Great thanks!" He says.
The bell rings. I leave and Dan follows me. I can already tell today is going to be a long day.
