Hey Everyone!!! So this has more of the main idea of the book that's coming in. I'm so glad I changed the order of this story and how it's structured. Originally, this chapter would've been chapter 9. Sorry if the fashbacks are a bit confusing. I'll be editing probably once the whole book is finished. ^.^

It was my first morning in Mexico. I’ve slept well and Rhianna had kept me company. I was hoping to see Pedro I hope that he had not left yet.
I had just stuffed into my black fuzzy slippers and went downstairs. My hair was wrinkled all over and down for the first time. I wore a tie-die T-shirt with Mickey Mouse pants as pajamas.
Nothing was really different when I had come down. It was still the same spotless floors, painted walls and open space. Large corridors separated the open parlor from the dining room. I saw the table right away.
Last night the table was empty and only a table-sheet was on top. Now it was plastered with a mini buffet. I could see the plates of pancakes, waffles, toast and fruit. I wondered if Jessie knew how to make an omelet. Tall plastic wine glasses sat in front of the plates only to be filled with apple juice.
A white bald man looks up and smiles at me. I look at him and his features. Gray hair behind the ears, all perfect white skin except for his hands and the emerald eyes we had shared. He was my Uncle Pedro.
“Cristina,” He says with a smile as I approach the table, “You’re finally here!” You could hear a Spanish accent as he spoke. He lived here for three years already.
I smiled, giving him a bear hug. It was good to see him again. I haven’t seen him since Aunt Cathy was around. Mom and dad wanted to give him space so he’d recover when she had died.
“What do you want to eat?” He asks.
I look through everything, trying to decide which I should gorge myself into. “Eggs and pancakes?” I ask.
Pedro only smiles and Jessie is already serving them onto my plate.
After gorging myself into the delicious meal, me and Pedro had a long conversation. He asked me how school would be going, what I was interested in and then he asked about my friends. Suddenly I dreaded coming downstairs.
“How’s Holly?” He asks with a smile on his calm face.
Memories from Christopher’s party just replay in my head and all I can do is remember how I felt and how that was a reason I wanted to come here. If I told Pedro about our fight, he’d know that was the only reason why I decided to come…
“Hey kids!" A grown man welcomes us.
He stands in front of the door that I assumed was Christopher's. This might sound sad, but it was the first time I've ever been at his house. And we've been friends for 3 years! I guess that you can't always be someone's 'best gal-friend' and have access to their house. I hated those kind of movies where the characters had that; They'd be the neighbor to 'the boy next door.' Ugh, I despise those things.
"Hi!" Holly chirps back, wearing a smile on her golden skin. She knows I'm incredibly shy to strangers or new people. It's why she always talks for me. That was another reason why I loved her. Without her, I don't know what I'd do. Holly was the most out-going person I knew.
