Laura's P.O.V.

I wake up to the sun shining so brightly. I stand up and try to get my balance before moving. I go downstairs and reach for one of the cabinets. I get a box of cereal and get a carton of milk. I starting eating the cereal and I get a text from Jack.

-text convo-

Jack: So what are we doing today?

Laura: I can't go today, I have work.

Jack: Oh..... I'll just bug you while you're at work.

-end of text convo-

I laughed at his last text. I decided not to reply and just head to my job before I get late and get fired. I get dressed very quickly and head out. I look at my watch and see that it's 6:30. My shift starts at 7:00. I'm definitely going to be late. I see a car drive by and I get really scared. I could get kidnapped, tortured then d-

"Hey, you need a ride?" Jack asks. I sighed of relief; I thought it was going to be a stranger or worst, a criminal.

"Yeah, do you mind?" I ask.

"No not at all, hop in." He says. I go around the car and open the door to the passenger seat. He turned on the radio and the first song that played was Sweet Child o' Mine. I can't help but sing a long

Oh, sweet child o' mine

Oh, sweet child o' mine

"You have an amazing voice even if it's raspy and dirty." He says.

"Because that's how you sing the song." I say in a 'duh' tone. He chuckles.

"Don't laugh. This is the national anthem of rock n' roll." I say.

"I'm not laughing at the song. I'm laughing at you." He says.

"That just hurts my feelings." I reply as I dramatically put a hand over my heart. Jack just rolls his eyes.

"How did you get the car?" I ask.

"It's a rental. I rented it until I leave. Before I leave for the airport, I have to return this car back. I thought we were going to go around and riding a car is less tiring than walking." He answers. I nod.

When a couple more songs ended, we arrived at the coffee shop. Jack rushed over to my side and opened the door for me trying to be a gentleman. I thank him then, I go to the employee's room and put my things in a personal locker. I go out to be greeted by my boss. Wish me luck.

"Don't worry you didn't do anything wrong. This is Allen and he's new here. Just teach him what you basically do every day." My boss said. I sigh in relief. My boss walks away and I look at him.

"Hey....." He says in a very soft voice. He must be very shy.

"Don't need to be shy. My name is Laura." I introduce myself and extend my hand for a handshake. He shakes my hand with a smile. I take his hand and show him how to work the coffee machine. This sounds so simple but this isn't a regular machine. It has around 40 different buttons and could go really wrong if you press the wrong one. I show him what buttons to press for a specific coffee. While teaching him, I take a quick glance at Jack sitting at a table. He looks at us and is currently glaring daggers at the guy. What's his problem?

"Thanks." I hear someone say behind me. I see Allen looking at me with a shy smile. I look down to see that he made a really good looking cup or coffee, specifically a cappuccino. I clap my hands in a childish way and he just laughs at my behavior. I tell him to give that guy or Jack a cappuccino because he ordered it.
