The soft rosy hue of the sun caressed my cheeks as I woke up. I dragged my sleepy body to the dining room and made a simple sandwich to eat. I munched on my meal quietly. I began my usual morning routine. I went to the toilet to brush my teeth. I wondered what today has in store for me. My phone rang. My favourite song was being blasted through the house. I had forgotten to put it in silent mode the night before. Great. My neighbours now think I'm insane. I quickly answered the phone, wanting the loud noise to stop. Secretly, I loved that song and wanted to dance to it, but still.

"Hello?" I said, looking out my window, hoping that they didn't notice the loud ringtone.

"HEY! MORNING!" a voice blasted over the phone. I'd recognized that voice anywhere. It was Preston, my best friend.

"Hey, wanna hang out?" I asked.

"Sure," he replied. We agreed to meet at the park. He asked me to bring my skateboard as we were probably going to the skateboard. I opened the teal cabinet and grabbed my dark blue skateboard. It had sky blue flame patterns on it. I tied the shoelaces of my Nike skateboard shoes.

A gust of wind blew past, fallen leaves flew past. I walked hurriedly to the park, I couldn't wait to see Preston again. We hung out and did some tricks on our skateboard. We ate lunch at a nearby diner.

"That was fun, we should go skateboarding more often," I said happily.

"Yeah," he replied.

I brushed my teeth and went to bed. I was exhausted. Skateboarding this afternoon certainly sapped a lot of my energy. I lay on the bed as still as a log. Soon, I fell into a deep sleep... ...

I woke up in a weird place. The ground was a soft shade of purple. Blue trees sprouted from the ground. I was definitely dreaming. I pinched myself. It didn't hurt but I didn't wake up. I explored the place. It was night. The soft sounds of the crickets chirping was like a melody that played on and on. As I walked further, I realized I walked into a meadow. The grass was green. The place was normal. The trees were the right colour too. The stars shimmered beautifully in the endless and vast night sky. This place seemed so serene and peaceful. It was a wonderful dream.

"Hiss... ..." I heard a hissing noise. I was alarmed. I drew a bow from thin air. This was a dream so that kind of things could happen I guess. An arrow appeared in my hand and I loaded my bow. A weird azure snake shot at me. I immediately let go and watched the arrow make its way into the snake's head. Not such a wonderful dream after all.

"HISS..." the sounds got louder. More of them were coming. I ran through the endless grass. I turned and saw them hot on my trail. The azure snakes were slithering swiftly through the grass. I loaded my bow and shot. 1 down. 2 down. No matter how many I took down, they just kept coming and coming. It seemed like an endless amount of them. I began to run again. It was futile to try and shoot them down one by one. There were several hundreds of them. One of them leaped and sank it's fangs into my left foot. I shook it off in pain. Then, the most bizarre thing happened. Starlight shone on the ground. I felt light. I felt like I could fly. I felt like I wanted to soar into the atmosphere and never return. I felt great. The pain was gone. I jumped into the air and flew. I could steer myself. I flew into the sky. The azure snakes soon turned into specks of dust. I tried sitting on a cloud even though I knew it was dumb as clouds were made of tiny water droplets. But surprisingly, I sat on it. It felt soft. I laughed. Dreams could be awesome and they could also be very scary. Like nightmares. Sometimes, they were combined into one dream.

"Hello," a soft and wispy voice said. I looked and saw a star talking to me.

"Hi!' I replied cheerfully. I gazed down onto the earth. Up here in the clouds was much more serene and peaceful. I even had friends to chat with.

"RING! RING! RING!" a noise filled the sky. The stars faded into the sky. Their whispers of goodbye echoing around. My eyelids fluttered shut.

I opened my eyes. I was awake. I smack the button on my phone to shut off the alarm and tossed my phone onto my computer chair. That was the weirdest and best dream I had ever had. I sat in bed, wonderstruck. But, I suddenly felt that there was a stinging pain on my left foot. I lifted up the quilt to see what was causing it to hurt. What I saw made me gasp in horror. A bite mark that resembled the fangs of the azure blue snakes in my dream was engraved on my foot. I was confused. Shocked. Lost.

After I regained my composure, I slowly made my way to the bathroom. I winced in pain when my foot touched the ground. It was useless. I gave up. It hurt too much. I reached for my cellphone, regretting that I threw it so far away. I hopped on my right foot and grabbed it. I slowly hopped back to my bed. I lay down and dialed for an ambulance.

After what seemed like eternity, the sirens of the ambulance filled the room. I let out a sigh of relief when I heard the wailing sirens. A doctor inspected my left foot. He took down notes on a clipboard and ordered the paramedics to put me on a stretcher. They carried me and placed the stretcher inside the ambulance. The interior was white. Pearl white. I stared at the ceiling for what must've been 8 years.

The paramedics opened the door and carefully lifted me out of the ambulance. They carried me into a room. The walls where also white. The doctor from before used an alcohol wipe to clean my wound. He slowly slid a rubber ankle sock onto my foot. It didn't hurt but the sock was soaked in warm water. Not wet. Damp. It felt hot. It seemed to take away he pain a little bit. He wrapped a crepe bandage slowly over the sock. My eyes fixated on his hands slowly moving in a spiral motion, wounding and wounding the bandage. After a while, he was done. He applied a broad pressure onto the bandage after he was done. He also gave me tips on how to take care of the bandage, etcetera. I nodded my head when he was done. It seemed like a serious wound so I was pretty concerned. How did a wound in a dream end out in one in real life? I had no idea.
