The carriage stopped in front of wonderful doors Little Red Riding Hood saw Cinderella almost fall out of the carriage. Little Red Riding Hood followed her. The footman tried to help Cinderella brush off. Cinderella walked away to the doors. She stopped right in front of them. She turned around.

"Go on!" Little Red Riding Hood egged her on.

"What if my stepmother recognizes me?" she asked her.

"Who cares? She will see a beautiful young woman in a pretty gown!"

"You think so?"

"I know so!"

"Ok, here goes...," Cinderella opened the doors. She walked in so elegantly that everyone in the room turned to look at her. The prince himself looked at her. He walked to her and the room was full of gasps and oohs.

"Will you dance with me?" he asked holding out his hands.

"Yes," Cinderella replied. Little Red Riding Hood stood in a corner and watched them they danced and danced. Cinderella even laughed a few times. Cinderella was good at making friends why couldn't she herself make friends? Little Red Riding Hood wondered. Little Red Riding Hood went to the buffet table she grabbed a plate of delicious food. She got punch and sat at a table. Later Little Red Riding Hood saw Gus and Jaques running and then a cook chasing them with a knife.

Quickly Little Red Riding Hood swept them up and took them to her table.

"Thanks, Little Red Riding Hood," Gus said messing with his shirt.

"Yeah, thanks!" said Jaques, "Hey Gus! Let's get something to eat!"

"No! I will get you something to eat," said Little Red Riding Hood. And before the mice could say anything she stood up and walked back to the buffet table. She grabbed a grape and a piece of bread the size of a grape too.

When Little Red Riding Hood got to her table Jaques and Gus looked at the grape and the bread, "Is this all?" asked Gus.

"Yeah, why?" asked Little Red Riding Hood.

"We can still eat more!" Gus said. He looked at Jaques then he lunged for the grape at the same moment Jaques lunged for the grape too! Little Red Riding Hood watched as Jaques and Gus fought over the grape.

"You know what I will get you guys another grape, maybe more," Little Red Riding Hood said backing away from the table. It was like the mice didn't hear her they kept on fighting for it. Little Red Riding Hood found more grapes and brought five back to the table.

The two mice were gone! This was such a crowded party how was Little Red Riding Hood ever supposed to find them? She went around calling "Gus!" and "Jaques!" one woman asked her who they were.

"Just my, brothers."

"They have very interesting names," said the lady.

"Yeah, my aunt was very interesting."

"Your aunt? Are they your cousins or your brothers?"

"Well they are my bro-cousins, well my mother never told me you see our family tree is very hard to understand. My mother gave up even talking about them." When Little Red Riding Hood stopped the woman was looking at her as if she had three heads, "I'm going to go find them," Little Red Riding Hood ran away.

That was a close one! Little Red Riding Hood thought as she darted around the buffet table. A man approached her.

"Are you looking for something?" asked the man.

"Oh, um, yes I was looking for the... the... the-,"

"The what?" asked the man?

"The lasagna, yes the lasagna!" Little Red Riding Hood said the second time a little louder.

"Ok, the lasagna is over on the other table."

"Oh, yeah now that you mention it I remember seeing it there, it was a pleasure meeting you. Bye!" Little Red Riding Hood walked casually to the other buffet table. "Gus! Jaques!" Little Red Riding Hood called again.

She walked over to the table opening many lids to dishes. Unfortunately they were not there. Suddenly she saw the chef again he was yelling up the curtains.

"Excuse me sir. What are you doing?" asked Little Red Riding Hood.

"There are mice here!"

"Oh really! Thank you! Gus Jaques!"

"Little Red Riding Hood? Oh good it's you!" Gus said.

"You own these mice?" asked the chef.

"Sort of," Little Red Riding Hood said.

"Get them out of here!" the chef screamed at her.

Little Red riding Hood ran out of the ball holding Gus and Jaques. When she got out of the building she found the carriage that had taken them there she sat next to the footman and wondered what time it was.

"Sir. What time is it?" asked Little Red Riding Hood.

The footman pulled out his pocket watch and answered, "Eleven twenty."

Suddenly Little Red Riding Hood thought. If all the mice were turned to horses how were Gus and Jaques here? She tried to remember the last time she saw them. It was when they were listening to Cinderella's evil sisters terrorize her. Then she, Little Red Riding Hood, had come down to see Cinderella but Gus and Jaques were not with her.

"Gus, Jaques?"

"What?" asked the mice together?

"Why aren't you a horse like all the other mice?" asked Little Red riding Hood.

"Well you know how we were making the dress?" asked Gus.

"Of course she knows that we were making the dress! She made the slippers!" said Jaques.

"That was a rhetorical question!" Gus said.

"Yeah I know," Little Red Riding Hood said to stop them.

"Well we stayed in the room to tidy up a bit and all the other mice left," said Jaques.

"Yeah, when we were done we scurried down the stairs and saw the old lady." Said Gus.

"When we saw her she said that she needed a pumpkin and then it was turned to a carriage. We scurried in and hid under the seat." Jaques said.

"Naturally it was a bumpy ride, when we got off we followed the scent of food in the air," Gus said.

"Our noses lead us right to the kitchen, where we met our friend the chef," Jaques said.

"The chef wasn't our friend!" said Gus.

"I know! That was rhetorical!" said Jaques, "Anyways that's when we met you, well first the chef chased us and then we met you."

They all sat in silence for a moment.

"What time is it?" asked Little Red Riding Hood peeking her head around to see if Cinderella was anywhere in sight.

"Eleven forty," the footman answered.

Silence overcame them once more then they heard the big clock start to Bing. Little Red Riding Hood saw Cinderella running out the doors she lost her slipper on the stairs but kept on running. She got in the carriage and said, "Hurry!"

The footman pulled the reigns and they all dashed back to Cinderella's house. They made it just in time and then everything was back to normal.

"How was the prince?" asked Little Red Riding Hood.

"He was perfect. He danced with me all night until I realized it was twelve."

"Wow you are great at making friends," Little Red Riding Hood, then it hit her was this what she was supposed to learn? Could it be?

"Well you just have to be nice and wait for the right moment."

Cinderella went to her chores and Little Red Riding Hood felt herself disappearing once again.
