"I can't stop thinking about her. She is always on my mind. Her silky black hair is just mesmerising. She is just..". I immediately close the book. I sighed and said,"These love stories are just rubbish shit. All useless, and total wastage of time." I keep the book which I was reading, inside my book shelf. I took my cell phone and sat on the couch.
When Sylvester, my best friend, gave me a book and that too of love story on my birthday, I was just thinking about the worst gift to give him on his b'dae. First of all, I don't like books. Secondly, the book that my best friend gave me was a love tale. I just hate love tales to the core. They annoy me haplessly. I really don't know what in love tales annoy me but, one thing for sure. They are just one fucking bitch!
Nevertheless, I took the book and gave my bestie a fake smile. I assured him that I will read and complete the book and that too within 1 month. It was the 3rd week today since he had given me the novel and honestly, I didn't even complete the 2nd chapter of the book which contained 37 giant chapters in it. By the 2nd chapter itself, I gave up on my resistance of reading the horrible love tale.
Love tales are just horrible. Sincerely, I never believed in love. I just think, that there is no such feeling existing on earth. All people who announce that they are in love are just trying to glam up attention, I think it that way.
Sometimes, I get confused, whether Sylvester is my bestie or not. A bestie never gives this horrible gift to his bestie. He knows the fact very well, that I don't like love tales but the maddie gives me everything I don't like. Like, just previous week, he gave me a majestic book of physical Chemistry. He knows the fact that I hate study, forget chemistry. He is just too annoying at times but, my best friend in him is like the best man I have ever met. Just a lovely person.
College had just started like 2 months ago. In just 2 months, Sylvester was like this close friend of mine. We hangout together, bunk lectures together and do all the stupid stuffs together. Just what I was searching for, in the initial days of college.
"Mike, come down. Porridge is ready. Fast!" Mom ordered me from downstairs. I just replied with an 'yeah'. I checked whether all my stuff is kept in my bag and my room is clean or not. Room clean and all stuff ready. I head downstairs to the dining table.
"Son, you are always late for the breakfast. Why don't you have this perfect schedule for yourself? Don't you wanna be fit?" Dad asked in his boring yet heavy tone. I just rolled my eyes and didn't answer. Then, he was asking me his usual questions about college and studies. I was just trying to answer each question in the minimum words as possible.
I don't know why, but speaking in morning gets me all bored. I just try to speak less in this phase of the day.
Mom packed my lunch box and after looking into the mirror for one last time, I bid goodbye to my parents and headed towards my college.
I called up Sylvester and asked him to come down after I was standing in front of his apartment. His apartment is on the way of my college. So I just pick him up everyday and we both march towards college together.
"Sorry bud! Got up late. Now let's walk and attack that college." Sylvester said while approaching me and chuckling a bit. I smiled and walked along with the maddest person on earth. On the way, he would just take pictures of anything except himself. If he finds a cat taking a nap, he will take a pic of it and smile. When someone asks him to take a picture of himself, he used to frown and disagree with the statement. God, I never understand his weird yet funny behaviour.
Mike and Sylvester. We were known for our funny and stupid things between the lectures. I and him, both were on the same boat. Both didn't like studies, and loved bunking. But, one thing was different. He loved hot chicks. Hot girls, was all he wanted. Me on the opposite side, wanted only 2 days of peaceful sleep. Was that too much to ask for?
On my way, I was just thinking about my Sister's mid-term exam which was today. Her name was Christina. An engineering student who was persuing her computer engineering in one of the famous colleges of Mumbai, India. All night yesterday, she was awake and was all tensed up. I calmed her down but, to no avail. She was just worried as her preparations for today's exams were not perfect. Still, I know, she will score good. Good enough to make her smile.
Chit-chatting about useless and nonsense topics, we reached our college gate.
To be continued in part 2.
