High School Yearbook AU

"Did you see this Hiccup?" Astrid asks.

"See what?"

"This."

Astrid shoves a book in Hiccup's face, pointing to a picture in the book.

"Too close," Hiccup says, taking the book from Astrid.

It's the yearbook, and the picture is Hiccup and Jack together.

"Cutest couple!" Hiccup exclaims.

"Exactly!"

"I need to go," Hiccup says. "I'll be right back."

Hiccup stands up and heads off to find Jack in the town.

"I'm borrowing this!" Hiccup yells out to Astrid.

"You better give it back!" she calls out.

"Yes ma'am!"

Hiccup runs down the street towards Jack's house, yearbook in hand.

When he reaches Jack's house, he knocks on the door trying to catch his breath as a boy with white hair opens it.

"Hiccup, what are you doing here?" the boy asks.

"Jack, have you seen the yearbook?" Hiccup asks Jack.

"Answer my question first."

"To show you something. Let me in so we can talk," Hiccup answers.

Jack steps to the side to let Hiccup into his house. He closes the door behind him and heads off to the kitchen.

"Sit down. I'm going to get you a glass of water," Jack calls out from the kitchen.

Hiccup enters Jack's living room and sits down on his couch. Jack comes back from the kitchen with a glass of water in hand. He hands the glass to Hiccup and sits down next to him on the couch.

"What do you need to show me that's worth you running all the way over here?" Jack asks.

Hiccup takes a sip from the glass of water before setting it down and passing the yearbook over to Jack. He opens it to the page that Astrid had showed him and point to the picture of the two of them together with the caption "Cutest Couple" under it.

"I wanted to show you this. What are we gonna do about this?" Hiccup asks.

"What can we do about it? Is it really such a big deal?" Jack asks, looking at the picture.

"I feel like you're underreacting to this," Hiccup says.

"I think you're just overreacting a bit, Hiccup," Jack says.

Hiccup sighs, "Fine. I might be overreacting a bit, but you aren't reacting like I thought you would."

Jack smirks, "Did I not live up to your expectations?"

He leans in close to Hiccup's face, causing him to blush.

"Y-You, no, um," he stutters.

Jack laughs lightly at Hiccup's state and sits upright again.

"Sorry. I'm just kidding," Jack apologizes.

"Um, heh, yeah," Hiccup says, attempting to avoid Jack's eyes.

Jack looks at Hiccup and sees the nervous twinkle in his eyes.

"Hiccup, are you okay?" Jack asks, turning his face to stare him in the eyes.
