"You shouldn't have done that," Talan breathed. He was too exhausted from the run and needed a break. I gently placed him down on a fallen tree. "You could've been killed!"

"But I am not, now am I?" Ripping a piece of my shirt off and walking to the stream, I placed the fabric into the water. I made sure that it was soaked and walked back to where he was sitting.

"You don't understand, they are very dangerous. They are on of the most dangerous criminals." He flinched when I place it on his wound. I quickly apologized and went to collect firewood. The fire was burning low and needed more to eat.

"Well that just means I made it easier for whoever to find those assholes,"I argued.

"They are going to kill you!" He gave me his blood-covered piece of fabric to rinse. I hesitantly took it and went back to the stream where I rinsed out the blood. That whole situation didn't make sense. Why was I here?

"Not if they don't find me first. Why did they bring us here anyway? What did they want?

He sighed and stared down at the fallen leaves. "Look, there is a lot I haven't told you but trust me. You will learn everything in time."

I groaned "I take it this is why you wanted to meet with me, right?"

He nodded.

"Yes. I needed you to come here- to see that I was telling the truth about your mother." I paused and turned towards him. I imagined steam bursting from my ears and my hair on fire. I was that angry.

"Wait- You wanted this to happen? Did you plan this whole thing?"

"What?" he questioned. I ran up to him and put my hands on my hips waiting for his excuse. If he thought kidnapping me was a good idea, he was wrong. He would deserve what he was going to get and it wasn't going to be pretty. He must've seen the anger written on my face because he raised his hands in defence. "No! I wanted you to come on your own terms, I needed you to be hidden while doing so not out in the open like you are right now. I needed you to listen to me."

"Did you bring me here? Was this your idea?"

"Stop it!" He yelled and stared at me with daggers in his eyes. He tried to get up from the tree and walked over to me. Because of how much blood was loss, he swerved and looked dizzy. I caught him before he could fall. "I did not and will not ever want to put you in danger and bringing you here is just that. When people realise you are here, you'll be in more danger than you can think of. People all over the kingdom and the nearby kingdoms will be tracking you down."

"Why? What do they want with me? I didn't do anything." I gently place him down and put the wet rag on his head.

"You aren't ready to hear it, yet." I rolled my eyes and turned to leave but stopped abruptly.

"The hell I'm not! You wanted this," I kicked the leaves and the tree. " You wanted me here and now I am, so speak." I sat down on a stone in front of him ignoring the fact that he was on the dirt and leaves while I was sitting on a rock. I waited for an answering while he looked up, contemplating on what he was going to tell me.

After a while, he spoke. " I was telling you the truth when I told you that your mom could've been kidnapped. In fact, she was kidnapped, back here, to her home. Your mother grew up here as Princess Seylonia and when she celebrated her nineteenth birthday, she did it as Queen. Her parents- your grandparents- were killed forcing her to take the throne. The murderers were the royals of another kingdom, they wanted to take over and gain your mothers kingdom- your kingdom."

It was ridiculous. There was no way any of this was true. My mother was an orphan from Montana. She was no queen and I was definitely not a queen's daughter.
