Tess backed away from Levi slowly, as he crept toward her. She turned and grabbed the doorknob, but it was locked. She shook the knob frantically,
"Help!" She screamed. Levi's hand flew over her mouth and his breath was disgustingly warm in her ears,
"No one can help you any more, not even your angel," He flipped her over, pressing her body against the door. Her head snapped back, sending racking pain down her back. Tess wrenched her head away from his hand,
"I don't know what you're talking about!" Tess growled. Levi kept his face inches from hers and forced her to look at him by grabbing her face,
"No one's told you yet? Poor naive girl," Tess gasped, her heartbeat was so loud, she was sure someone miles away could hear it. She was scared to death,
"You see Tess, a seer like you comes around every once and awhile, and it's my job to destroy you," Levi looked at her and his eyes turned completely black. Tess let out an earth shattering scream,
"Get away from me!" She pounded against Levi's chest,
"Sorry dear, but even demons must have their pleasures," The demon within Levi growled. He grabbed at Tess's body, kissing her neck roughly. Tess fought against him, but couldn't do anything. He ran his fingers over her skin, and tried to get at her chest. His fingers, that were once gentle, grabbed greedily at her skin. Tess screamed again, fighting against Levi. She quickly changed her thinking, she wasn't fighting Levi, she was fighting a demon. This wasn't Levi. Tess tried to ward off his advances as best she could, blocking him with her arms. Tess screamed as he pushed his lips against hers furiously, demanding an answer,
"You will give into me," The demon whispered in her ear, running his teeth down her ear and neck,
"Never!" Tess spit in his face defiantly. The demon responded by crushing her against his body and his hot breath covered her skin angrily. He raised a hand to run along her neck and Tess bit him,
"You witch!" The demon growled and slapped her across the face. Tess shrank away from his touch; hot tears began to stream down her cheeks,
"Please stop," Tess pleaded. Hope began to shrivel inside her,
"I will stop when I please," The demon hissed. He grabbed the back of Tess's hair, yanking her head backward. Tess gasped as she fought to breath,
"Please..." Tess cried, her voice cracking. The demon seized her face digging his nails in. Tess screamed in anguish as she felt blood come to her skin. Tess' eyes closed and her lids felt heavy, something deep stirred within her, a power undiscovered,
"Absens abs ego immunda animus," The words slid from her tongue involuntarily, but yet she understood them. The demons fingers retreated from her face, and it seemed to cower. Tess looked down at the demon, who glared at her,
"You don't know what you speak, girl," He growled,
"Absens abs ego immunda animus!" Tess shouted. The demon shrieked, trying to get away from her. His eyes flicked back to Levi's normal grey eyes,
"Tess, help me!" Levi's plead came from deep within his body. Tess's body shook at hearing the sound of his voice,
"Levi!" She cried back to him. Levi's hands began to rake at his throat and he screamed, as if he was trying to escape himself. His eyes switched black as the demon took control over him again. Tess tried to back away, but she was already against the door. The demon hissed,
"Game time is over," The demon lunged at her. Tess cringed and sunk to the floor, waiting for whatever was to come. Only the blow didn't come. There was a loud screech along with the sound of shattering glass. Tess looked up, opening her eyes. Silas stood planted in front of her, but it couldn't be Silas. The figure in front of her had feathery white wings. A blue aura radiated from his skin and surrounded him. The most striking feature of this supernatural human though, was the blazing sword he held in his left hand. It was like a normal grey sword except that it was engulfed in blue flames that lapped at the air angrily. The demon stood across from the guardian angel,
"I thought I took care of you," He hissed,
"Apparently not," Silas answered. Silas risked a glance back at Tess and she realized it really was him. His face was set with determination,
"Now, you will leave my human alone,"
"I'm afraid I can't do that," The demon growled. A pair of black wings seemed to grow out of the demons back, and a black darkness surrounded his skin. He unsheathed a hidden black dagger. The dagger was engulfed in scarlet flames, and the site of it made Tess want to scream,
"Then I have no choice but to rid the Earth of your scum," Silas stiffened, gripping his sword tighter. The demon laughed,
"Foolish angel, you never learn," He lunged forward and Silas blocked the stab with his sword. The blades made a horrible screech when they collided. Silas threw the demon back with the push of his blade, but the demon lunged back at him with inhuman speed. Tess began inching her way off the floor, hoping to get away. The demon noticed her movement and started toward her. Silas brought his blade down across the demons arm, slicing it open. Tess screamed, and the demon shrieked, fluttering back with his wings. He glared at Silas and began a quick blur of assaults, Silas blocked as fast as he could, but lost his balance as he lunged forward and the demon dug his blade into Silas's calf. Silas clenched his teeth and fell on the floor. Dark red blood spilt from his wound. As Silas groaned in pain the demon pulled his dagger out of the wound, causing Silas to scream and drop his sword. The demon grinned and brought the bloody blade up, ready to slash Silas's throat,
"Silas!" Tess screamed, somehow finding her voice. Silas grabbed his sword just in time to block the deadly advance of the dagger. The two blades screeched against each other, interlocked. The demon jumped backward, bringing the blades apart. He switched the blade into his palm, and hit Silas in the head with the hilt. Silas fell onto the ground with a silent groan. The demon looked up at Tess,
"Help!" Tess screamed louder than she had ever before, her throat was dry. The demon stalked toward her,
"I will extinguish you like I have extinguished other seers before you," The demon lunged and Tess scrambled away as he and his blade came toward her face. The darkness he radiated took any remaining hope away from Tess. Suddenly the demons advance stopped and a horrible gurgling sound came from his throat. Blood began to pour from his mouth as he choked on it. Tess closed her eyes and opened her mouth in a silent scream as he coughed it onto her face. The demon looked down at his stomach where a sword stuck out of it. Silas yanked the sword back out of the demons body, and he fell to the ground lifeless. Tess looked up at Silas. He had blood dripping down his leg, and a large wound on the side of his head,
"Tess, I'm sorry," He dropped his sword onto the floor beside the demon. Tess felt dizzy as blood seemed to rush to her head, and she collapsed into the Angels arms from dizziness. Silas caught her with a grunt. Tess let out an exhausted and anguished cry. Her emotions crashed onto her,
"I'm sorry," Silas apologized again. Tess wept against him bitterly,
"Why me?" She repeated over and over. Tess didn't know what the time was when she finally managed to pull herself together, but it had taken awhile. She knelt beside Levi's cold body, putting a hand over her mouth to prevent herself from screaming,
"Is he gone?" She asked. Silas nodded solemnly. Tess's heart felt like it had shattered. She pulled Levi's head in her lap, cradling it,
"No...no...NO!" She screamed, rocking back and forth. Tess didn't notice Silas disappear as darkness seemed to cloak her soul,
"Levi, you can't leave me," She looked at his lifeless grey eyes, taking his hand in hers and pressing it into her cheek.. Silas reappeared, and Tess scrambled away from him. He had a gun in his hand,
"What are you doing?" She asked,
"You should leave," Silas said, not looking at her,
"I won't leave until you tell me why you have that gun," Tess stayed by Levi's body protectively.  Silas looked conflicted,
"To any human, Levi's body looks lifeless with minor injuries," He said,
"How come I can see the marks of your sword then?" Tess asked,
"Any seer can see the damage of a celestial weapon," Silas answered,
"Okay, but why not leave his body like that?" Tess asked,
"It's too skeptical Tess, I have to fix that. You were the last one to see him. Someone might blame you for his death," Tess slowly felt the words sink in, and she took a deep breath. Her friends body lay lifelessly on the floor, his dead eyes staring back at her. Tess knew she couldn't go to jail, not for something she didn't do. She bent down and pushed his eyelids over his eyes,
"Do what you must," Her voice cracked with emotion. Silas's golden eyes held sadness beyond compare,
"I wish it didn't have to end this way, Tess," He sighed. Tess didn't say anything; she opened the door of Levi's room. Once she was out of his house, she fled down the street. Her legs pumped underneath her as she ran blindly. Tess ran as far away from Levi's house as possible, but she didn't get far enough. The distinct pop of a gun firing in the distance rang in her ears. Tess tripped and fell, skinning her knee open. She made no attempt to get up and lay on the sidewalk. Soon she felt warm hands wrap around her and there was feeling of anti-gravity, as Silas picked her up. She felt the world black out and her body went limp in Silas's arms.
