Luke had been sitting at the table for over an hour now and the sky still wasn't bright outside. His watch read 03:26 am. He was snapped out of his trance-like state when he heard footsteps upstairs. Maybe one of the boys needed the toilet he thought. He went back to resting his head on his knees.
Suddenly the door started opening and he looked up to see his twin brother Jai. Jai's eyes were half closed as he turned on the light and silently gasped. "What the hell are you doing down here Luke?" Luke just sat their for what seemed like forever before opening his mouth. "I would like to ask the same question?" Jai looked at him weirdly. "I was coming down to get a glass of water, anyway stop avoiding my question why are you sitting downstairs at like 03:00 am when you should be in bed snoring?"
The older twin pondered his mind before frustratedly sighing. "I do not snore and I was...Thinking of video ideas, for the video we are supposed to film tomorrow" Luke stared at his twin hoping that He would believe him. "Today," The younger twin corrected him, smirking. "Ok then Luke, I believe you but I am just dying to hear one of your obviously amazing ideas for our video."
Luke stared blankly at Jai, he really had no idea how he should respond. "I would tell you, but you see some rude person interrupted me when I was in the middle of coming up with a really good video idea!" Luke rambled on trying to sound agitated. He was wondering if his twin was buying any of his lame excuses when a tired yawn came out of Luke's mouth.
"So when you were coming up with these 'so called' amazing ideas did you not think you should sleep to actually have the energy to film them" Jai questioned him smirking as he knew he was winning this argument against his twin. "No because I'm not tired" Luke snapped with a glare. Jai just raised an eyebrow and smirked even more before responding. "Your yawn proves otherwise."
"I'm yawning because your irrelevant conversation is boring me" Luke replied and for the first time in this argument he was the one smirking. "It takes two to have a conversation Luke" Jai muttered, even though he was the youngest - by two minutes - he was a lot more logical than his older and apparently more wiser twin. "Anyway let's go upstairs to bed!" Luke, who was rolling his eyes, scoffed. "I'm an adult Jai I don't have a bedtime" The younger twin burst into fits of silent laughter before quietly murmuring "You're right Luke you may be an adult but you sure still act like a child - wait no - a toddler."
Jai's comment caused Luke to grin and playfully punch him on the arm. Jai who was exaggerating a pout spoke in a tired tone. "No but seriously let's go to our rooms, if I am tired then you must be exhausted!" Luke knowing he had lost this argument against his twin, agreed. As he went upstairs he silently was relieved that it was too dark for his twin brother to notice his huge dark rings under his eyes. When he had said goodnight to Jai, who had corrected him by saying it was the morning, he had went to his room and sat there on his bed staring into thin air. He couldn't sleep, well he didn't want to, he was still to scared by the recurring nightmares he had been getting. He would just have to sit there until the sky got light outside.
Time skip - 6 hours later
Luke sat in his king size bed until 9:00 am, he would usually stay in his bed until noon but that was when he slept. He had to get up now because even though he was extremely exhausted, he had become restless. So he got up and tiptoed to the bathroom, careful not to wake anyone up. He looked in the mirror, he really did look terrible. Lunch got some concealer and put it under his eyes so that he looked like he had a good nights sleep - well that was a bit of an exaggeration. He unlocked the door.
As he started walking down the stairs, his older brother Beau came out of his bedroom and tiredly acknowledged him. "What are you doing up this early? Beau asked, suspiciously eyeing Luke. "I am getting a glass of water!" Luke replied almost too quickly. Beau still looking at him suspiciously, said "Did you sleep well? You normally need to sleep for much longer." Luke considered telling the truth for one moment before replying . "I slept great, did you?" Beau nodded before he next spoke. "Yeah I guess, I could do with a few more hours, I'm going back to sleep in a second. What are you gonna do?"
Luke thought for a moment before simply stating. "I'm going to make breakfast." Beau snorted because Luke never even ate let alone made breakfast (as Luke would normally sleep in too late), but before Beau could question his younger brother's peculiar behaviour, Luke had already walked down the stairs. Beau just shrugged it off and went back to bed, leaving Luke to make breakfast in peace.
Half an hour later, Luke was setting the table. He had made a batch of pancakes for everyone. He walked up the stairs, three steps at a time, to call the household down to eat. When he got up to the landing, to his surprise, everyone was already awake. "This smells amazing, I never knew you could or would even cook for us Luke" Skip said while his stomach growled. "Are you feeling ok Luke?" Jai joked as he rushed to get to the table first. Even Beau, the grumpiest of them all, managed a weak smile before running off to join the others.
When Luke had finally got to the table everyone was already digging in, so he put a pancake on his plate, squirted maple syrup on and nibbled at it in silence. The silence was soon broken by his older brother Beau. "Last night, well this morning, I heard someone talking downstairs. Who was it?" He asked in curiosity. "That would of been Luke and I," Jai answered, still eating his pancake. "I came downstairs to get some water and I saw him just sitting on a chair staring into space" Beau sniggered in disbelief before speaking. "What the hell were you doing in the kitchen at that time?" Before Luke got a chance to respond Jai replied. "He was thinking of video ideas which he, for some reason, forgot when I walked in the room." All the boys started laughing at this. After a very long time Beau asked Luke."Well aren't you tired?" To which Luke responded "No, I had an early night a few days ago and the after effect is only now catching up with me plus I need less sleep then you guys!" For the first time this morning James spoke "Come to think of it I don't remember seeing you go to sleep for like ages." All the boys nodded their heads in agreement. "So when are we going to film our video?" Luke questioned, trying to change the topic. The boys knew it was pointless to argue with Luke so they didn't bring it up again. "In an hour" James casually stated with a mouth full of pancake.
After breakfast the boys washed their plates and went back to their rooms to sleep. While everyone was snoring away Luke sat their staring at a cloud trying to work out if it looked more like a sheep or a dog. He stayed like that in peace until their was a loud knock on his door. "What?" He shouted. "We're going to film a video!" The person, who sounded a lot like Skip, replied. So he went out of his room and followed his friends down the stairs and into the garden where they would be filming. (A/N I don't know if they have a garden or even film in it ever)
"Hi guys we're the Janos-Dare Sundays" The boys shouted at the camera in unison. "Right guys, so this week we are gonna do something a bit different," Beau literally screamed at the camera. "We are gonna be pouring FREEZING water on everyone, I've filled up five buckets" He then pointed behind him at five identical buckets. Suddenly Skip gasped. "Wait guys! I have thought of the best idea ever. Ok, so we each stand on one leg and whoever puts there other leg down last gets the pleasure of pouring the buckets on everyone else!" This caused the boys to look hopeful. "Ok!" They all chorused.
About one minute later in time the boys were all standing on one leg. Each member had a look of determination on their faces. James was the first to stumble, shortly being followed by Jai. Skip was the next one to stumble. They were left with two. The two most competitive people.
Luke was so sure he was going to win, when a wave of tiredness washed over him. He stumbled, letting Beau win. "Kay sit down in a line guys" Beau mumbled in excitement. When they were all sitting down he slowly managed to pick up the first bucket. "This is called strength boys" Beau called out, making them all snort in amusement. He threw the first bucket over Jai's head causing him to shriek like a child.
After five minutes later the boys (apart from Beau) had had water thrown on them. After they had sat in a cold shivering heap for five minutes the boys got up to go inside and change. But before they had moved more then five feet a gasp could be heard from Jai. "Luke! What happened to your eyes?" Suddenly Luke remembered. How could he have been so stupid? His concealer had came off when the water had been poured on him. "What do you mean?" Luke murmured in fake confusion. "Beau look at Luke's eyes" Jai ordered his older brother. Luke, who had quick reflexes, covered his eyes with his hands and started trying to head inside. However, before Luke managed to get inside, Beau grabbed his arm and forced him to sit. When he had succeeded in making his younger brother sit, Beau grabbed Luke's wrists and pulled them away from his eyes. Every member gasped. "What happened to your eyes?" Beau asked curiously. Luke really didn't know what to say. Luckily Jai answered for him. "I think he is sleep deprived!" Beau looked at Luke with a confused expression on his face. Soon his confusion changed to anger. "Why are you so tired all the time?" Beau screamed, in the manliest way possible. "If you are so tired go to bed earlier, instead of staying up so late!" Luke just ran inside and shut the door behind him. After getting changed he flopped down on his bed.
Even though he was petrified, Luke was going to try to fall asleep. Half an hour later his eyes started to feel really heavy.
Meanwhile, the rest of the Janoskians were sitting in the living room watching family guy. "Do you think I was too harsh on him?" Beau asked, breaking the silence. "No, but he wouldn't stay awake normally, he must have a reason!" Jai exclaimed, changing the channel. "Let's go talk to him." He said to Beau. So Beau and Jai made there way upstairs to try and talk to Luke. As they opened the door they were surprised to see Luke in his bed, hyperventilating with tears flowing down his pale face. "No," Luke screamed. "Please don't leave me!" Jai and Beau stood there in shock realising Luke was asleep. "Luke," Jai whispered, as he sat on the end of the bed next to Luke. "Wake up!" Luke opened his tear-filled eyes and sat up. "I think you were having a nightmare Luke." Beau stated, looking at the hyperventilating boy. "But you need to calm down or you might make yourself sick." He added. The three sat there in silence as Luke slowly began to calm down."So is this why you haven't been sleeping?" Beau and Jai asked in unison. "Yeah" Luke mumbled quietly. "Hey I've got an idea!" Jai chirped excitedly before going out of the room, only to come back five minutes later with a hot water bottle and a got chocolate. "This always helps me sleep so it might help you?" Luke looked at it unconvinced. "Thank you" he murmured to his twin, before falling asleep in his now very warm bed.
