I was being held underwater. I was trying to reach the surface of the water but a large hand was pushing my head under the water.

As I felt like I was about to loose consciousness the hand let go of my head and I could hear footsteps walking away. I was able to make it to the surface and gasped for air, wiping my drenched dirty blonde hair out of my face.

I then closed my eyes and opened then back up. I was in my bedroom, laying in my bed. I recognized the baby blue walls and my tiger lily bedspread. I sighed and thought to myself, it was just a dream, Hailee...

I got out of my bed and walked over to my dresser. I didn't feel like showering this morning, I took one just last night. I picked out a pink t-shirt and white skinny jeans.I looked up at the picture of my family which stood in a light green frame.

At the far left was my dad, his bright blue eyes glistening. Next was my mom who in which had long dirty blonde hair like me with brown eyes also like me. Then there I was with a lame, dull expression. Then there was my beautiful sister, Amanda. She had dark black hair and blue eyes, like my dad. She passed away two years ago when she was 17 due to heart failure.

I miss her a lot and I have been going to a therapist to help me out because I also have depression and social anxiety. I put on my shirt and squeezed into my jeans and walked downstairs.

The familiar smell of coffee filled my nostrils as I walked downstairs. I saw my mom making herself a cup of coffee and my dad sitting at the kitchen table reading his daily paper.

"Claudia, look at this! Brian Boltrin said that my article was, "boring and seemed like not much effort was put into it." My dad said in shock and some amazement.

He is a reporter on daily news and is in some type of competition with this Brian guy.

"Well I thought your article was great, Hank!" My mom replied and kissed my dad softly on the forehead. My dad look up at me. "Hey Hails! Did you get good sleep?" He asked as he went back to reading the paper.

"Good, I guess. I had a nightmare again. It seemed so real." I replied as my mom put my plate of food in front of me.

"We'll that's not important, what's important is that fact that you're graduating high school in a week!" My mom sang as I took a bite out of my delicious fluffy eggs.

"Yeah that's good too." I said, tears threatening to spill from my eyes. They did. I starting crying.

"Honey what's wrong?" My dad asked with his eyes full of concern.

"I wish Amanda was here to celebrate with me." I attempted to say. I don't even know if they could understand me.

"Hailee." My mom started. "We all miss Maddie but you can't just be upset all the time. I know it's upsetting that she won't be there for you're graduation but you have to make the best of it!" She said as she wiped the tears from my face.

"I was her mother I know what it's like to be hurt and thinking that there isn't any reason to celebrate anything but she can still see us!"

I heard the sound of a bus horn from outside. I hugged and kissed my parents, grabbed my backpack and left.

"I love you babe." I heard my mom say as I closed the door. I just pretended I didn't hear her and I walked to the bus.
