Chapter Three - Songs and Kites?

"Toma! Hiro!" I exclaimed as I ran towards the twins. I finally made it though my first week here without any more problems! Ringo let me try singing in the studio again and the second time the CD did not make that weird screeching sound and I did perfectly fine. Syo, Tokiya and Ren even skipped a part of their class to come watch me sing. Also Ittoki presented the song we wrote together and we ended up ranking the top pair in our class! I am so happy with what we had come up with; I wrote the song and helped with the lyrics but the words were mostly Ittoki. The song title we'd settled upon is Brand New Melody; Ittoki told me it is how he felt about our friendship so far."Hello Mika - Nee!" Toma said happily as he and Hiro bounded towards me. I hugged the two of them around the shoulders and laughed as something blocked our paths. "What's up with this?" I asked as I motioned to the parcel in Hiro's arms. "It's for you!" Hiro said as he held it out to me. I sat down on the path and took it from him. Hiro and Toma sat down beside me and gazed happily at the parcel. A few students passed us giving us kind smiles as they exited the gates to Saotome Academy; they are probably headed into town. I suppose it is a good place to be on a sunny afternoon, but I can't take Hiro there. . . "Open it!" Toma exclaimed. "Okay! Calm down, I'm getting to it." I said. I gently took the edge of the parcel and eased the paper open; trying not to rip the paper in the process. "Watching you open things is nearly painful." Hiro joked quietly. "Hey, I'm trying to be quick." I told them as I finally got the box out. I opened it and found a complete outfit lying there; it is a beautiful dress that reminds me much of the autumn leaves. I pulled it out so I could get a good look at it and found that there were in fact leaf like things for my arms. The entire dress was orange with brown stripes and a yellow bow. "It's beautiful. Thank you both so much." I said earnestly as I leaned forwards and dropped kisses on their faces. Toma squirmed like usual but Hiro let me show my affection for him. I knew Toma actually liked when I did this but he likes to 'act cool' in public."It's for your first week at school!" Toma said as he wiped his face. "Rima let us into her new fabric stash just for the occasion too." Hiro said happily. The twins loved to make clothes it is one of their passions. Rima has a whole giant stash of fabric but only lets them into her really nice stash on special days. "I'm not sure where I can wear this." I told them as I gently placed it back into the box. "Wear it anywhere! We didn't make it so that it can sit in your closet." Toma said lightly as he took the box and walked towards the dorms. Hiro and I followed behind him and stayed close to the edge of the path. Hiro held my hand tightly while holding his penguin in the other. I had a dresser full of their clothing so they never had to bring over any luggage with them. I opened the door to the dorm and we headed right up the stairs and into my room. "So how have all the kids been?" I asked as I took the dress from Toma and hung it up in the closet. "Good. They miss you a lot though. You'll come back and visit sometimes right?" I nodded. "I am planning on coming soon, I just want to adjust to my life here before going to see everyone." I told them. "Someone is at the door." Hiro said suddenly as he looked over his shoulder at the door. "I didn't hear anyone knock." I said as I looked away from the dress and shut the closet door. "I can hear voices." Hiro replied plainly. Hiro has always been sensitive to noise; it's weird, he's always right about the things that he hears too. I skipped over to the door and opened it widely. "Hello Mikan." Syo said surprised as he and the other boys stood lingering around my door. I found it weird that some of them used honorifics with my name and others didn't; I wished they'd all call me the same thing. "Hello Kurusu - Kun." I greeted. "Hello Hiro - Chan and Toma - Chan! Have you come to pay Mika - Chan a visit?" Natsuki asked as he peered around Syo. I looked down and saw Hiro hiding closely behind me and Toma standing just under my elbow. "Yes, we are planned to come every weekend." Toma replied. I brought my hand around to my back and Hiro placed his firmly in mine. "So what is it that you are looking for?" I asked. "We wanted to show you something. Are you free to come?" Masato asked. "The twins can come too!" Ittoki exclaimed. I looked at the twins for an answer. My time on the weekends is fully dedicated to the twins so if they want to go then we will and if they don't then the boys are going to have to wait until another time. "I'm gain." Toma said cooly. "How about you Hiro?" The younger twin hesitated then pulled on my hand, wanting me to bend down. I did as he wished and he leaned in close to whisper "If you carry me." I laughed softly "As long as you try to open up to them." Hiro nodded slightly and I picked the boy up. "We'll come, just try not to be too loud around Hiro okay." I told them as I picked the twin up. "Thank you little dove." Ren said as they stepped out of the way for us to come out. "Shut the door." I told Toma as he grabbed Hiro's penguin from the sofa and skipped out to meet up with us. "So where exactly are we going?" I asked as I stepped into pace with Tokiya and Syo. "You'll see." Ittoki said deviously. "I'm sure you'll like it lots." Natsuki said happily as we exited the dorm.
