[I'm *hoping* to get back on schedule by New Years. *mutters something about stupid human festivities* I'm unsure whether this'll be posted with multiple other chapters or not... also the ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) is the separation of my tired and awake writing.]
Dipper woke, groggy with the sun rudely disturbing his slumber. He groaned and stretched. He felt like crap. -normal crap. So in other words, he was good.
The checked his alarm clock's numbering. It was eight and time to get up, shop would open at 10 but he liked to have free time. There was journal reading and world explaining to be done.
The boy got up and briefly stretched, looking to his sister's bed he frowned. She wasn't there. Doesn't she sleep in until 9, earliest? Why would she- the fight. Dipper facepalmed himself hard, smiling at how stupid he was. "Mabel's still messed up about it."
He frowned again... where is she?
The boy looked around for her. "Mabel?" He called, digging through the closet and checking under her bed. He exited the room to the lobby... thing. He shivered, remembering all the creepy puppets that were there less than a week ago. -oh and the Norman incident.
"I have to get Stan to change these windows..." He muttered, looking through the glass and to the yard. Well, she wasn't there. Something small fell past his vision and onto the ground. "Wh-" He pushed open the window, quietly and looked up. There, Mabel was wistfully plucking the scales of a pine cone.
He watched as another frill fluttered to the yard's ground. Mabel shouldn't be upset... she was a generally happy person. He had ruined that, huh? As he struggled up to the roof, Mabel watched silently. Once he was up, he let his legs dangle beside his sister's. "Mabel... I-" He had to tell her eventually. "I- we need to talk." The boy leaned against the cooler that sat beside them on the rooftop, it shifted dangerously close to the side. He lifted his head and turned to his sister, grabbing a hand and holding it. She looked away as he searched her expression. "Something's wrong with me, Mabel."
Her head snapped to look at him with a face full of shock. "Wait, what? Is that what this is about? Brobro, if you needed more support you should have just told me."
Dipper watched her incredulously. "Wh- Mabel!-"
"-we can set you up with other people. I can even invite you next time me and the girls do something." She hung her head and hugged her brother (who's expression hadn't changed). "I should've been a better sister..."
Dipper snapped out of his confused daze immediately. "Woah- Mabel, no. I'm talking about some kind of amnesia. Y'know, memory loss?"
Time seemed to pause as Mabel digested this information. Slowly, she was lifted off her brother. She blinked a few times before frowning, slightly. "Oh."
Dipper let her process it, the twinge of information about his nightmares at the tip of his tongue.
"You don't remember?" She asked.
Dipper sighed, reaching to tip up his hat and faltering when nothing was there. He settled for playing with his fingers anxiously. "The fight?, no... I'm sorry for anything I did to hurt your feelings."
Mabel was silent.
"There may have, also been nightmares..." Only prepping you for what's to come, stop worrying about them! -ugh, the voice. "Nothing too bad judging from my memories of them, anyway."
VOHHS
"Still hurt though..." Mabel mumbled.
Dipper yawned uncontrollably. "I wish I remembered. So I can make it up to you, somehow..." he paused. "What happened, anyways?"
