I sat there helpless as she lay there with blood everywhere the poisonous blade still where the empusa had struck her.
"NO!" I screamed as I ran to her.
I can't lose her to. Not Annabeth. Please no. I have lost to many people to lose her to. First Frank, Hazel, and Jason then Reyna, and Piper. I can lose her too.
"Stay with me Wise Girl" I begged her.
"Don't go" I whimpered.
"Please don't cry Seaweed brain" she said as she coughed up blood covering her front.
"I...I...I can't lose you too Annabeth. Don't go." I whimpered.
"I love you" I whisper to her.
"I...I..." another cough and more blood "I lo..love y..." she lay limp in my arms.
"ANNABETH NO!" I screamed.
"no..." I lay her body down on the blood covered ground. When I felt a cold hand on my shoulder I flinched and whirled around brandishing Riptide like a madman. I stopped when I saw Nico Di Angelo standing there eyes wide at my sudden outburst. I sobbed and threw myself in his arms needing some comfort from a friend. He hesitated then wrapped his arms around me. He and Leo are the only ones left. The only one... I have to protect them. I sit up, wipe my eyes and stand up a new rush of adrenaline. Nico gets up and asks me.
"can you fight?" as I nod I see a Cyclops with a hammer poised above Nico's head. I push him behind me and block the blow. I run up and stab the Cyclops with Riptide. As he crumbles to gold dust I say
"Lets go kick some monster ass." Nico nods and we run to go help Leo with the monsters. The next four hours were a blur of celestial bronze and monster dust. After the last empusa disintegrated everything went black.
