Recap:

"No! I won't let you send me off to some hospital as I'm a lunatic.. Get out! Get out of my bedroom!" They stared in fright as they quickly got up and left.

Before they even shut the door I quickly began to pack my things. Only the important things of course, clothes, toiletries, a pillow and a blanket. After that I was off, I didn't know where I was heading I just knew I wasn't ever going back. I thought my parents loved me, now they hated me, hated what I had become.

I walked along the highway having no clue where i would go. Would anyone even want to house me? I was a monster. It began to rain heavily and my suitcase had become heavier and heavier the more wet it got so I decided to rest. I set my suitcase down and then sat on it. I sighed as a car rushed past splashing the cold rainwater at me and drenching my clothes.

I began to cry at the thought of my parents, my home, and my old life. As I was thinking my thoughts were interupted when a large jeep pulled along the shoulder of the road behind me. I was about to get up and start walking when a guy around my age got out. "Hey!" He called after me. I stopped and turned.

"Umm hi?" I responded.

"Are you okay miss? Do you need a ride? It's awfully cold out here."

"Where are you headed?" I asked not really caring because I didn't know where I was heading. Honestly I'd go anywhere if I could get out of the rain.

"I'm headed to Washington, where are you headed?"

"Same," I lied but honestly didn't care. I could start over in Washington. The young man walked over and picked up my bag.

"I'm Skye," He held out his hand for me to shake.

"Luna," I said as we shook hands.

"That's a beautiful name," He said as we loaded up into his jeep.

"Th-Thanks," I said through chattering teeth. He smiled and reached into the back seat. He pulled out a wool blanket and handed it to me. I took it and wrapped it around myself. I smiled as a thanks because I was too tired to talk.

"So, what were you heading to Washington for?" Skye asked as I rested my eyes.

"Um... I was just... looking for a new place to settle down. Got bored of Colorado I guess."

"Oh, do you havee any family in Colorado?" He asked as he drove.

"No. My parents are dead." Well dead to me anyways, I thought and I stopped myself from crying.

"Oh, I'm so sorry Luna..."

"Don't be, it was a long time ago." I didn't want to lie to him but I was never going to see them again and I sure as hell was not going to tell him I was a wolf. I sighed.

"Oh, sorry you must be tired... I'll let you sleep." He turned the music down, the heater up, and focused on the road letting me sleep.

"Luna?" Skye softly shook me. "Wake up, we're at a rest stop." I opened my eyes and yawned.

"I'll be out in a minute," He nodded and walked into the rest stop. I rumaged through my things for money, luckily I remembered the stash of cash under my bed when I was packing my things. I grabbed a ten and headed inside. I grabbed a bag of chips and a brisk, when i got up to the counter I got two burritos and payed. I found Skye sitting at a table and sat acrooss from him. "How long was I asleep?"

"About 14 hours," He smiled as he bit into his pizza pocket.

"14 hours? Why didn't you wake me up earlier?"

"I tried and you wouldn't budge," He laughed. "You must of had a rough day, hu?"

"Yeah.." I said as I finished my burrito. "I'm done, are you?"

"Yeah, let's go." Skye got the rest of his things and took me back to the jeep.

"Thank you Skye.."I said shyly as I closed my door, as I got in I realised how badly my wolf wanted to stretch her legs and run but I wasn't going to let her. Not in front of Skye. It's not that I didn't trust him. I actually liked him and didn't want him to think less of me and abandon me on the side of the road.

"For what?" He smiled.

"For picking me up, and driving me all the wa to Washington." I smiled.

"Don't mention it Luna. Do you have a place to stay when you get to Washington?" He asked the question I feared most.

"Um.. no," My cheeks began to burn with embarassment.

"Well if you want... you could stay with me and my roomates. I know we just met but, yeah." He smiled again. "I'll let you think about it, okay?"

"Yeah, thanks Skye..." I sat back in my seat and smiled. I'm actually being givin a fresh start. "I'll take it," I looked over at him smiling from ear to ear. Skye looked at me and smiled back then went back to driving.

"You'll love it in Washington."
