Luna

Chapter 4

Recap:

"It's so beautiful here," that was all I could say because it was all I was thinking about at the moment. Four teenagers around Skye's and my own age were sitting around the living room. When we walked in they all got up and greeteed Skye. I shyly stood behind him, before he could introduce me I was quickly pulled out from behind Skye by another guy who looked realated Skye but, he had blond hair and was a bit taller.

"Who's this cutie?" He asked as he pulled me out in front of everyone. Skye quickly pulled me back towards him as he glared at the other boy.

"Everybody this is Luna, she's going to be living with us here..." We both waited for a reaction from the other four.

At first everyone was silent, but then out of nowhere everyone got a big grin on their faces and began to say hello and introduce themselves. "I'm Blake," said the boy that had pulled me out from behind Skye. He held out his hand politely and I took it, shaking it weakly.

"Dakoda," a young girl with short blond hair, and blue eyes said as she hugged me. I was surprised at first but after a second or two hugged her back. The other two, a boy and girl were twins. Kalel and Kye, they both looked somewhat similar with dirty blond hair, dark eyes, and average height. Me being only 5'4", with long dark brown hair, and hazel eyes seemed plain compared to the others.

"It's nice to meet all of you," I said with a soft smile.

"Um... I'm going to show Luna her room, see you at dinner," He announced as he picked up my suitcase in one hand and my hand in the other. He led me down the main hallway and up the stairs to the first room at the begining of the upstairs hallway. He set my suitcase down and opened the door. I couldn't believe what I was seeing, a huge room with a king sized bed, it's own bathroom, and a walk-in closet. Skye set my suitcase down beside the bed. "Do you like it Luna?" He asked with a smile.

"I... I love it Skye, I really do. Thank you so much. This means the world to me," I smiled as I began to cry.

"Please don't cry Luna," He walked over to me and embraced me in a tight hug. He wiped my tears and hugged me again.

"Dinner's ready!" I heard Dakoda yell from downstairs. Skye took my hand gently as he led me back downstairs, into the kitchen. When we entered the kitchen everyone was already filling their bowls with stew. "Hungry?" Dakoda asked as she made me a bowl.

"Yes, thank you." I said as she handed the bowl to me. I sat down at the table and waited for the rest of them. Blake sat to my left smiling a sly grin as Skye sat to my right. I ate in silence as I listened to everyone's interesting convorsations about their day. It was weird in a house full of 15 and 16 year olds being the youngest now.

"So, Luna. How are you liking South Bend so far?" Blake asked.

"Well, even though I haven't been around I think it's beautiful. I'm excited to see more."

"Maybe I can show you around some-," Blake was interuppted by Skye.

"I already told Luna I'd show her around tomorrow," Skye declared. I could cut the tension between Skye and Blake with a butter knife. I shyly looked down.

"M-May I please be excused?" I could feel everyone's eyes on me the second I asked. My cheeks burned and my heart began to race.

"Luna... you don't have to ask permission around here," Everyone agreed,, I looked up to see the looks on everyone's faces when they then started to realise what kind of home I came from. I got up, the bowl shaking in my hands. I walked into the kitchen, washed my bowl then practically ran upstairs. I hated the feeling of embarassment, especially from people I hardely knew. I locked my door, changed into my pajamas, and went to bed. I layed down thinking that I had just arrived and already made a fool of myself. I sighed and closed my eyes.
