Chris's P.O.V

A scream broke me and Taylor out of our argument. It wasn't just any scream though. It was Ashley's. I shot out of my chair as fast as I could and looked to the now empty stool that Ashley was originally sitting at. I kept looking around the room thinking she was just playing some sort of game with us and was going to reappear at any moment but deep inside of me I knew she was actually gone, I just didn't want to admit it.

Ashley's Aunt, the Luna ran to the door with the Alpha following behind her just as fast. Without another second of thinking, I ran out the door to, trying to find the area that the scream was coming from. I felt Taylor, Max, and Blake running behind me but I didn't stop.

I picked up my speed, hoping that if I went faster than I'd find Ashley. It didn't work though. By the time I got to the clearing, I saw the Luna on the ground in tears and the Alpha covering something, but I couldn't see. I could only smell blood, and lots of it. Only a portion of the smell was hers, but I could still smell it.

Blake went over next to his mom with silent tears streaming down his face. The Alpha moved a little and I saw a body. I let out a sigh of relief when I saw that it wasn't Ashley, but I was still holding my breath. The sight was gruesome but no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't look away.

It was a male. A male hunter. He was leaning against a tree with blood drowning every inch of him. He had horrible claw marks around his body but that wasn't what killed him. His head was literary hanging by a thread and in pieces.

I know I shouldn't have, but I felt a sense of pride and anger. Pride because Ashley had done this. Our little small Ashley had basically tore this man to pieces. Anger because she had to do this to survive and I didn't even know if she was alive or not. It was this hunters fault and I was glad he was dead.

I should have paid more attention to her. I should have noticed when she left. I'm a horrible best friend. This should have happened to me not her. I was so distracted by my anger, that I didn't even here the thudding paws of more wolves coming.

I heard a loud crack and I looked to see Max. He had his fist lodged into a tree and tears were running down his face. He retracted his hand from the tree, but just punched it again and again until the Alpha had to order him to stop.

Max reluctantly stopped but still looked vulnerable and ready to kill someone. Taylor looked the same. Alpha David Must have ordered the wolves to come because they were all trackers and a few warriors were there to. They were all smelling the air and sniffing around the ground trying to find someother scent other than blood.

"Go back home, when we get back we'll tell you everything we found," Alpha David said calmly but you could see pain and worry in his eyes going out to Ashley.

"I want to stay," Max demanded and stood up as tall as he could. Alpha David growled warningly at him for talking back and the tone of his voice.

"C'mon, we can wait in the living room. we're probably slowing them down anyways," Taylor managed to say from her sobs and grabbed Max turning him around to walk to the house. I glumly followed along with Blake.

The walk back was in complete silence. The only sound that could be heard was of the sobs coming from Max and Taylor. I never thought that I would see the day when they cried, the same for me. I don't want to cry because I know she wouldent want that but I just cant fight it in me to stop crying, so I just let it all flow out.

When we finally made it the front doors of the house, there was a huge crowd waiting. I watched them all step back a little when I approached and I smirked at that. I didn't even have to say anything to get them scared. If Ashley were with us, then she'd be next to me also smirking at there fear. Except she would then say something stupid to get them madder.

I felt a lone tear trickle down my face from the thought of Ashley, my best friend. I know I don't like to admit these things out loud but I knew that she knew I was her best friend to. You could see it on her face.

I growled dangerously at the people who were dumb enough to not move when I approached. They soon took a step back and I smirked even more. When we all finally made it to the living room, there was a complete silence. You could only hear the few people that were in hear closing and opening there mouths as they fought to find some words to say.

I glared there way which resulted in them quickly leaving and closing the door, but not before sending us all an apologetic look. We must have been in the room for over an hour with nothing but silence before the Beta, Eric told us the Alpha was awaiting us in his office.

With shaking steps, I stood up. Slowly but surely, everyone else followed. I left the living room ignoring all the stares of onlookers and made my way to the large staircase. I walked up all the way to the top floor and I was surprised that I didn't fall down with all my shaking. I walked the rest of the hallway until I came to the large doors of the Alphas office. I stopped breathing for a moment and if it wasn't for Max then I would have gone into shock.

"open the door," He barley whispered. Without replying, I opened the door and came face to face with an sobbing Luna and a stressed and worried Alpha. But I knew all that worry was scent to Ashley.

"sit," was all he said and then motioned to the chairs in front of his desk. Me, Taylor, and Blake all sat down but Max remained standing and leaned up against the wall.

"What do you know," Blake almost demanded.

Alpha David looked angry for a minute at his outburst, but he quickly covered it up. He cleared his throat and then began to speak in a calm voice," We managed to pick up four scents, But they all disappeared past the river line. One being Ashley and the three others being all male hunters. The one leaning against he tree was indeed dead, killed by Ashley. She wouldn't have been able to kill them all though, they were three fully grown hunters with silver coated weapons. I'm surprised she managed to kill one."

I saw pride pass through his eyes, but it was only for a moment. "so is she alive or dead," Max asked the question that we've all been wondering for the past hours.

His bluntness must have surprised Alpha David because he looked momentarily shocked before replying. "From the small amount of blood we managed to find of hers, we noticed a good amount of silver in it. Not enough to kill her. But not enough to not harm her either. Other Packs around the area have also had these kidnappings occurring and the ones who were mated said that there mates were indeed alive, meaning that there is a chance of Ashley being alive."

"So basically, she has a good chance at surviving," Max asked confused.

"We don't know of that yet. Its a fifty fifty chance, but we cant loose hope on her. The King has been informed of all these disappearances and is traveling to each pack for information and help on this situation. We can only wait and hope that they get here soon," He said sadly.

The room was welcomed back into the silence and we all knew that that was all there was to it. We could only hope. Hope that she's alive. Alpha David gave us a nod, and I sat up along with Taylor and Blake and we made our way to the door and out into the hallway without uttering a word.

"This is bullshit.....Why'd she have to go out alone? Why did have to be her? Why didn't we pay more attention?," Blake broke the silence with a growl.

Its funny how those were all questions that I was asking myself right at this moment. It shouldn't have been our Ashley to get kidnapped.

"Blake, we cant change the past. We can only hope and fix the future," Taylor tried calming him down but it wasn't working. He stormed down the hallway and into his room.

"this shouldn't have happened," Taylor mumbled. I wanted to agree with her, but I just couldn't find the words in me to. So I just hugged her, both of us crying softly into each others shoulders.

Right now, I knew that we all had one thing in common, and that was worry for Ashley Fringe.
