Chapter 1

Matt returns home. He's glad to be back & outta that dull prison cell. So glad to have those handcuffs off! he thinks, as he rubs his handcuff-free wrists. He sits in his comfy armchair & warms himself with a cup of cocoa. He stares outta the window at the pristine white snow, the rotund snowmen & the carolers outside spreading festive cheer. His stomach growls. At the same time, he hears a familiar sound from behind him. He peeks behind him & jumps up when he sees the Tardis materialize in the middle of his living room! "Hey, Smithy! Good to see ya! Merry Xmas! Heard u were out on parole, so I thought I'd surprise ya! " David greets, stepping out. The kids follow behind. "Oh, it's u!" Matt growls on seeing him. "Hey! What's with all the hatred, Smithy? I thought that all was forgiven!" a shocked David asks. "Yeah, but not forgotten!" Matt replies, reminding him. "Well, this'll help u forget! The kids & I are goin' to visit Santa Claus & u're tagging along!" an ecstatic David exclaims. Matt stares at him for awhile, wondering whether he should go away with the man who betrayed him or just toss him outta his house. He decides to reject his offer. "Awww, c'mon! Baby, it's cold outside!" David pleads jokingly to lighten his mood, as he & the kids are shown the door. Matt ignores him. "So, what're u gonna do?! Just sit here & pout, while everyone else celebrates?!" David asks, in disbelief. "Yeah! I'd rather stay here, then go anywhere with u!" he replies, in a heated voice. "C'mon, Mr. Smith! It's Christmas! 'Tis the season!" Rory & Rose urge. "Mr. Smith...that makes me feel so old!" Matt mutters. "Then, this trip'll make u feel young again!" Ellie (who's become more mature now) assures, sweetly. "Fine! I'll tag along, but only 'coz this sweet young lady asked me to!" Matt (who's taken a liking to Ellie) finally accepts.
